Epic power! It's amazing! Geeeze for that swivel to wrap around the pole, plus around the first from top roller guide and then immediately after that, the Ahi making solid run for it, and for it to still have enough power to cut line around the roller guide is a perfect storm. What's is the probability of all three things lining up like that? I'm sure gloves would have helped, but IDK if it could have still been held on too. Try replicating that power with yourself to cut the line like that. This is a testament to how quickly things can go wrong out there. Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Yes for sure. I watched it slow motion frame by frame. It all went bad in under 1 sec. pretty crazy how something like that can happen. Definitely was meant to be free. 🤙

Do you ever think about maybe adding radar for spotting birds? Losses just part of the game. Also add on cost for 2 lures, hooks, spacers etc. It makes it easier when you split the wins $$ and losses with your buddies. All of it adds up to good stories and memories for later eh? You already know that for sure 😉

Why are you hand lineing the last few yards? Why not use the rod and stretch of the line to wind him in under tension?
The leader was long. We only could reel up to the swivel. The fish was still about 6’ under the boat.
