This is why BOTW is my favorite open world game, the developers literally thought of every small detail. And the game physics literally allow you to approach and solve problems in different ways. Even the glitches in BOTW make the game fun!
Emergent gameplay from default behaviors left on citizen AI. Any game with emergent behaviors are great, and BotW is one of the best examples with how they coded everything. They didn't need to think of this exact scenario, they just needed to leave the default behaviors on characters that may never need them.
I like how the guardian just gave up and rethinked all his decisions in life to realize it was over for good and he couldn't do anything but to cooperate in this silly prank. Or ganon just left the guardian to be good again because it was worthless already. RIP to the last guardian with a heart out there
It just gave up on trying to shoot you after a while? I'm kinda surprised that they programmed the NPCs to have reactions to this even though it would never happen in normal gameplay.
Yeah Guardians and other monsters can't see Link if he's in a town, because they're coded as safe zones. It's kind of disappointing, I wanted to see it blow the town to bits!
The legless guardian was like: “i could kill you right here, right now, but there are people around. And I’m a machine with standards who takes honour in one on one fights.”
@@ThornyFox It could have been possible for a guardian to follow Link into a town. I wouldn't be surprised if they could've started attacking random NPCs. Probably would have been a bit too violent, though.

You are a guardian you were built to stop the calamity but instead you ended up possessed by the verry thing you were created to destroy. Many of your fellow guardians had perished in attempt to end the people of hyrule then a hundred years or so later the hero of all hyrulians and slayer of ganon presents himself to you, you attack but are swiftly brought to the virge of death then in the most humiliating way possible are dragged across the land only to be shown to a child then thrown off a cliff. Honestly I feel bad for the guardian.
"We'll do this the hard way" and then Link basically handicapping him somehow got me xDDD But am I the only one who had tears in the eyes bc of guardians death? Poor thing became such a nice pet and didn't even try to attack Link anymore
I've always wondered why guardians never drop all their parts I get that I smacked it with an ancient saw blade with ancient proficiency 3 stacked attack, you can also make the reason that they're "old" but they respawn every blood moon squeaky clean, also why do I only get like 5 cogs 11 screws and like 4 shafts sometimes a core from a thing that fires LASER BEAMS OF DEATH
Well, you smacked it apart with violence. If you want all the parts of a car intact and reusable, whacking it with a sword until it stops moving is not the best way.

Wow. I actually learned a lot from this. Not only some new techniques for playing with guardians, but some things about how the game was built. I'm guessing the guardians are programmed not to attack towns, or at least not while in town. And also, I had no idea that Purah had an animation for being afraid. Gotta wonder why they even added those things???
Towns are coded as safe zones where no enemies can attack you, so that must include Guardians. As soon as they enter a town they just go _wait, what was I doing again? Oh well, guess I'll chill here_ And as for Purah, every NPC has the same base reaction when they see a monster. So they didn't specifically code her to react, it's just applied to every NPC. Except King Dorephan. That guy doesn't flinch at the sight of a lynel xD
