Albert would have had a field day where I live.... walked by about 25 deer this morning munching on our neighbors' landscaping. Many are about 10-30 feet away... and they are very nonchalant about our human presence. Two very pretty fellows with mature antlers too.

lol those skulls were not real. They were casts. You can buy them to display antlers. My dad used to love them, but didn't want to hunt and kill them. So he would buy those fake skull casts and have the antlers mounted to them.🤣
I really love the royal touring of the country which basically amounts to a all expense paid vacations on the dime of the notable houses. Clever kings and Queens 😉
min 12 seriously: if a skull is attached to some antlers, chances are they were not 'shed' but shot. stags don't grow a whole skull year after year :-)

Accounts I have read said that a lawsuit was filed and won against the Crown over the house being a castle at least for tax purposes. Love the look at the Ancestral Manse of my Clan.
How old is this actual episode? I can't seem to find it on any American broadcast schedules but I would love to watch all of the episodes and so many are copyright blocked.
Did Victoria get invited ,or just inform the owners she was coming for however long?,and if so what would have happened if the owner just could not afford it.
vicki hated new born babies she thought them ugly , this is why she could happily go to scotland and leave the new born , she fell in love with scotland here at this castle and bought balmoral because of this visit
She was privileged, never had a hero like mine who fought to live and will always have disabilities and medical issues throughout his life.. Had she gone through that perhaps she would have valued her children more..

It wasn't like they let them swap castles for weeks and months at a time. The owners had to pay a hotel. (Edit, guess these ones didn't have to go to a hotel, but some did)

As a teenager I camped on the grounds of Blair Castle. It is amazing estate with wonderful scenery. Well worth the visit.
