The first song i ever heard by them. I then heard Rebellion (Lies), bought the album and they became the best band i heard in yeeeears ❤💯
First song I heard was Rebellion (Lies) on MTV recorded it on my VCR. Bought the CD. My Daughter was a toddler then. Listeing to it in the car going back an forth to whatever. She remembers being in her carseat. We've both been fans ever since. She going to be 21 soon. I get what you mean.😊 Great Band!
Same
Now I need to go back and listen to this album again for the thousandth time.
..absolutely, and always at the right time.
I woke up with the power out
Not really something to shout about
Ice has covered up my parents' hands
Don't have any dreams, don't have any plans
I went out into the night
I went out to find some light
Kids are swinging from the power lines
Nobody's home, so nobody minds
I woke up on the darkest night
Neighbors all were shouting that they found the light
(We found the light!)
Shadows jumping all over my walls
Some of them big, some of them small
I went out into the night
I went out to pick a fight with anyone
Light a candle for the kids
Jesus Christ, don't keep it hid!
Hoo-oo
Hoo-oo
Hoo-oo
Ice has covered up my parents' hands
Don't have any dreams, don't have any plans
Growing up in some strange storm
Nobody's cold, nobody's warm
I went out into the night
I went out to find some light
Kids are dying out in the snow
Look at them go, look at them go!
Hoo-oo
Hoo-oo
Hoo-oo
Oo-oo
And the power's out in the heart of man
Take it from your heart, put it in your hand, hand
What's the plan?
What's the plan?
Is it a dream? Is it a lie?
I think I'll let you decide
Just light a candle for the kids
Jesus Christ, don't keep it hid!
Because nothing's hid
From us kids!
You ain't fooling nobody
With the lights out!
And the power's out in the heart of man
Take it from your heart, put it in your hand
And there's something wrong in the heart of man
You take it from your heart and put it in your hand!
Where'd you go?
Please parents. Get divorced. Its been 20 years. you're still killing your kids?! They need to be parents who are truer than you. Turn on the light for the kids. Jesus Christ, keep it lit!
20 years later. I truly hope his parents got divorced.
Some of them big, some of them small😱....awesome, as always x
I love to see them live.. They're amazing.. Just not many festivus this year. But 2022 is gonna be awesome
Amazing song.
I remember in autumn 2019 when I first got this album (of course I knew Arcade Fire way before), I went to bed at 4 am one night and woke up at 5 pm to catch a bus. I was a uni student at the time, and it was going to be my first time I was going to teach English to a class of high school kids as part of our college work experience. The truth is, not only I was tired, but I was also stressing because I felt like an impostor and because teaching is not the same as giving a presentation in front of an audience, which is something I never struggled with.
So, naturally, I just didn't want to show up, and the lack of sleep got in my way of thinking to the point I wanted to flunk out the subject and not show up. However, I remember this song came on that morning (I was obsessed with this album, so I just let it play all the songs) and it gave me the self confidence and assertiveness I had needed. Until then, I never really liked this song that much, but right then, it really made sense and became one of my favourites.
And that's the difference between regular music fans, and people who listen to bands I think. The former ones listen to music for the enjoyment, and the latter use the music for specific purpose. I am not trying to sound superior btw, just saw this song being recommended and it brought me back to the last month before the Covid chaos began,
I am a big White Stripes fan but I think this is the song of the decade. I am frankly surprised it didn't have the same effect as Smells like Teen Spirit introducing a host of new bands. It kinda did, I suppose. Killers are certainly one. This song sounds feral or like it can't be contained. It is simply one of the highlights of the 2000s decade or aughts. A perfect song.
The White Stripes are one of the most overrated acts in music history. Just an every-song-sounds-the-same blues revival duo that lied about being brother and sister.
💣💣💣
What are the odds that I chose to search this only 4 hours after the official account posted it. I never search their songs.
😍😍😍
Arcade Fire are like an atheistic U2, love them!
🔥🇨🇦
!!!
This will always be one of my top five AF songs. Have heard them do this live SO many times and it blows me away every time.
I haven’t heard this song in maybe like a decade but as soon as I listened to it, it’s like I’ve never not heard it before.. weird 😅..
Great Song!

Arcade Fire is a revolution, in constant evolution, they are fresh, inventive, really really really good musicians, they made my mind travelling by magnificent worlds. A massive thank you for their albums. We can say that those albums are masterpieces without any doubt Cheers from Belgium

Amazing song! It makes me feel... like a soldier, standing in the midst of the battlefield. It's so heavy, electrifying, makes anyone feel powerful. I'm hitting the gym to this song. LOVE Y'ALL ON ARCADE FIRE! 🔥
This song will always be nostalgic for me… in my 20s and loving life while living with SI…
