Took possession of my scout bobber in May and purchased the comfort seat before I left the dealership. It is pretty comfortable but the 1920 solo seat was calling me as I like the look. So I pressed the button and ordered it haha. Love your mods.
I want a bobber but I sat on one today and it was so uncomfortable. Need to figure out maybe what handlebars to use so I’m not sitting so forward if possible
Between a Scout Sixty and a standard Scout, I had roughly 34,000 miles on the same 1920 Solo Seat and would not consider owning a Scout without it. As Jim states, it looks great and gives your Scout a more classic look. The revised seat position also opens up the rider triangle, which -- at least for a larger rider -- absolutely transforms the comfort and feel of the bike. I had routinely taken both bikes on +400 mile days and never felt too sore to ride the next day. Highly recommended. I'm in between Scouts at the moment, but will likely trade my Triumph in for another one in the near future. I'm praying that Indian increases the fuel capacity, improves the suspension, and can increase the cornering clearance a bit on future Scouts as this would make the bike a much more capable high-mileage mount for those who like to run up the mileage on these machines.
Do you happen to have the instructions for mounting this Bad Boy ? Finally getting around to putting mine on but the guy I bought it from sent Nothing and all the parts in a plastic baggie. Thanks
This seat kit for a 2024 indian scout bobber 20 abs, by far, has to be the HARDEST kit I can find for this darn bike lol. Do you have any links for the seat, harness, close off, and bracket?
@Jimbobbington did check but they were outta stock. However, the scout 60 parts, that said wouldn't fit the 20, fit...not too sure if they just don't update the site with fitment.
@@Jimbobbington btw, thanks for responding. The seat and tail lights are all I have left. On the fence about getting bullet light or an integrated tail light under the pan seat.
@@Jimbobbington Have a question for you Sir, do you have a Service Manual for your Bobber ? I went thru all my paperwork and I Didn't receive one, just an Owner's Manual and Have an Error Code to validate/check on.
@@brettsjohnson5925 I have a digital .pdf of the 2018-2020 models that I received when I ordered my custom bolt kit. Happy to send you a link where you can download it if you email me at Jimrobbington@gmail.com (Jimrobbington with an R! Not Jimbobbington!)
Haha that there is the Hacker Mayhem with baffles. It was amazingly violent. I eventually switched to the Dirty Bird exhaust because I was tired of scraping my pipes on the ground.
Thank you for great feed. Have you quantified how much additional height in inches does the 1920 solo seat adds compared to the standard factory solo seat? Trying to determine if they're going to be livable for me to get the 1920 Solo Seat.
That has honestly never come up and I have never seen any weight limit warning for it. The seat bolts to a solid metal mount that is bolted with 4 bolts into a plate that is welded directly to the frame. It's a very sturdy seat.
Hey Jim. Tell me the details about that license plate frame. I'm thinking about ditching the stock one on my new Bobber Sixty and going with something else.
Hey! It's 3D printed but a member of the community. I have a whole video on the install where you can see it up close. His eBay link is in the description of that video
Love the seat and I have one too for my scout bobber. The saddle was such a pain to install though! It was a pain to screw in the saddle so close to the battery compartment…
@@Jimbobbington I’m on the fence about the seat because I do like the seating position but I was thinking about getting the reduced controls but I have the radial pipes so I’m not sure if I’ll have my leg in the prime spot to get burnt
Hey man. Dig your vids. I understand your position on the OEM 1920 vs. the Alex from an aesthetic point of view. My Bobber 20 arrives soon and I am definitely doing one of the two seats. Having had two lower back surgeries, would you say the Alex may be a bit more forgiving? Also, sub'd!
@@Jimbobbington Absolutely. Can't find a dealership close with stock so hopefully it warms up here in Minnesota enough for a road-trip. If you are going for the "bobber" look, then no, they are not terribly uncomfortable for short rides... as he said. Sitting on carpet with concrete underneath isn't comfortable either but it looks better

Awesome! It's not the most comfortable thing out there, but it looks the best imo
How is it compared to the comfort seat? I am thinking of pulling the trigger.
Great video brother, Just upgraded seats again. This one totally fits the bobber look for sure
Yes it does!

A lot of people swear 8"-10" apes make a huge difference. My bike is clearly not built for comfort lol

Fantastic feedback! That's a lot of miles on the 1920!
How do you determine which size seat is good for you if purchasing the Alex Leathercraft custom seat?
Love watching your videos! Learning alot 😃

I don't see the link for the additional hardware
The link for the "seat close off" is the only additional hardware you need asking with the seat for the bobber.

Probably lifts your butt up about 2" I'd wager
Its not everyday you see turquoise handlebars... I had my solo seat redone, with a layer of gel. Its better now but I might get some longer shocks.
I've never seen any but mine! My rear shocks are 1/2 inch longer than OEM bobber shocks also.
How much did the seat alteration cost? That’s exactly what I’m thinking about doing
How much weight does it support
I've never seen a weight limit published for this seat. It's a sturdy hunk of metal
JFC is comfy or not?

It definitely makes you sigh when you have to remove it compared to just snapping the original seat on/off with zero tools
Do you slide off during acceleration?
Not really an issue for me. I believe because of my drag bars, I'm leaning farther forward and it helps.

How many miles u ride on the stock rear shock?
About 4700 miles! Just replaced the shocks last weekend! The install video will be out next Friday
