Congrats Donato!! Looking forward to catching up on this whole series! You know I’m a big fan of your travel and race vlogs. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thanks Donato for the great coverage of the Malaga marathon, you are full of surprises, I thought your next race was something like February 2020. Sorry that you were in Hospital, what an amazing job, you put in some very hard work 2019 onwards & upwards for 2020 keeep on runnning 😀👏✌️🖐👍🏼💃🥵😮😆🤓🤨
Go Kiwi thank you my Kiwi friend. This was all literally booked weeks before the race, but wasn’t expecting such a dreadful time days before the race... what to do, eh? Have a great Christmas and onwards and upwards 👍🏼
Merry Christmas Donato. What a fantastic effort and amazing time. 3:08 after such a troubled build up is sensational. 1:31 at half way is very impressive. Looked like a tough 2nd half but this will have been due to your spell in hospital. I hope everything is now ok. I’ve loved watching this series from Malaga. Keep up the awesome work. Best of luck with future challenges. I’m certain the coveted sub 3 will happen.
Merry Christmas Donato 🎅🏼As an Aussie I had to laugh when you said 20 deg was pretty warm at midday! Congrats on another awesome marathon effort, looking forward to seeing what you get up to in 2020! 👍🏼
I had no idea that was on the cards. Never heard of Malaga- thanks for informing me. Love the race footage. Last couple of kms looked amazing but you were probably in too much pain to notice. You have so many choices for running events, advantage living in England. Not much choice in Australia during the summer- too hot! Your enthusiasm to run marathons / races inspires me. I’m injured at the moment ( foot ankle ) so trying to be patient, lots of swimming/ stationary bike.
Hi donny I’d love to do this marathon if it’s definitely going ahead , ive been here a few times great spot , fingers crossed this one and a few more get the go ahead
@@PoetWithPace Considering it as an option, yes 👍 I am running Paris (for the 2nd time) in April and I then need to start saving for Boston 2025 as I ran a 14 and a Half minute qualifier at Amsterdam in October. Think that I need to book an autumn or winter Marathon to keep ticking over. UK options aren't really working for me (Chester would probably be the best) but I am liking the look of Málaga 🙂
Great work. I’m debating wether to sign up for this years. Looks hot and quiet… how did you find it? I like the buzz of major closed road races so might not be the one for me.
Thank you Jack. Whilst it was sunny, it was perfect temperature and not hot. None of the marathons i have ran have spectators all way round, whilst the majors do have sections with large crowds giving the feeling of crowds all way round.
Thank you so much for the kind comments, which is greatly appreciated. Nothing is totally flat and as we tire towards the end, every little lump can be felt. For me it was such a fab course and a pleasure just to run around such a historic and beautiful city. Despite me discovering on the Wednesday after race day that i had kidney stones, which caused the pain during the race, i had a fabulous time there. Thinking of going are you Ben?
Hi! Thanks for a very cool video, looks like great place to run.. Not sure if you mentioned it, but how warm did it get during the race? Also what is the elevation profile? Pretty much flat? Thanks!
Thank you Peter, glad you enjoyed this. The temperature was not too hot for me, peaked at around 15 Celsius, but was cooler at the start. Elevation is almost flat for most of the route, with a couple of inclines. Great event if you are looking for big city marathon without the hype and over priced entries like the Marathon Majors. Are you thinking of running this one?
15 Celcius and flat is perfect for me😎 - I don’t really like warm weather marathons, so this sounds really good. Yeah, to be honest I didn’t know about this marathon until a few weeks ago. I am the waitlist for Valencia (weekend before Malaga), but it’s way more expensive than Malaga - Race, Hotels, Flight etc. So after seeing your video I’m actually leaning towards Malaga!
Hi donato I said I’d write on this post , Malaga marathon officially cancelled today !!!! I knew there wasn’t a hope but still disappointing and sign of the times next year hopefully
Thank you for getting back to me Eoin. It is indeed sign of the times. Hopefully those in power will wrk out what to do going forward. meanwhile, we keeeeep running! Stay tuned for some exciting updates here and my plans going forward.

Thank you Stephen. have you booked for Malaga this December 2022?

great to hear Eoin and hope you are enjoying my channel?
Wow I love the way the half way point is organised. So neat! Looks beautiful there - how hot was it? ☀️
Running With My Mind it was around 21 Celsius. It was all immaculately organised 👍🏼

Looks an awesome race ❤

Hi. What was the course like, it looks a little hilly on video. Was it?
Its not totally flat and there are some cheeky inclines especially in last 5 miles. Hope that helps?
@@PoetWithPace thank you. I’m considering it this year, but don’t want a race where a good time is impossible because of a lumpy course.
