The video follows Deft after a 10 year career and usually getting so close but never taking the cup won in an intense GF against his former school mate Faker and former team Kiera

This is what was missing from the last anthem, from Nas X. I liked Star Walkin' a lot, but it didn't feel like a worlds anthem that pumps you up. Also I'm just a huge fan of Mako and his songs, so this is an overall win.

Great to see people from outside of the League of Legends community enjoying and appreciating this song. A lot of people within the community are actually saying that the song is bad. I'm just sitting here wondering if I've been listening to the same song as them. I haven't seen a single reaction on youtube where someone didn't like the song!

It is because they decided who NewJeans are before they even listen to the song. If you know what I mean.

PS: The same people hating on Gods often hyped up Rise. MAKO was involved in both!

I'll try to giv the best context to the video as I can.
The video is follow the story of a pro player called Deft and his long journey to winning is first world championship.
In the highschool sence we see Deft and on the far left (The guy with glasses) another pro play called Faker, who is cosidered the best player to eve play LoL. Then we see them both as charaters, Deft on Ezreal and Faker on Zed, this also shows them both starting their pro careers in 2013. Deft is on a team called MVP Blue, he did not qualify for worlds that year, Faker on the other hand won worlds on a team called SKT T1k, this is the start of a rivalry between them both. We also see Deft killing a blue buff (a minor minon in LoL) and we see Faker killing a baron nashor (purple worm thing that gives a game ending buff), this could referecne how both of their careers started.
In the next major sence we skip to worlds 2014 where we see Deft playing Lucian and he is being hunted down by PawN who is playing Jayce. Deft was on Samsung blue (SSB) this year and PawN was on Samsung white (SSW), the sister team to SSB, when PawN slams his hammer down on Deft it mimics the play which resulted in SSB being eliminated from worlds in the Semifinals in a 3-0 blow out also leading SSW to in worlds that year.
The following sence we see Deft standing back to back with his former teammate Meiko, this takes place at worlds in 2015. Deft is playing Sivir and Meiko is playing Thresh they both play on a tem called Edward gaming (EDG). The player who appears is called Rekkles who was playing for Fnatic in 2015. Rekkles is playing Kennen and the sence ends with Rekkles using his ultimate and eliminating EDG from worlds in 2015 during the quaterfinals in a 3-0 blow out, Fnatic did not win worlds though, Faker and SKT T1 won worlds making him a 2 time world chamiopn.
The 360 shot with all the effect flying around are going throgh the years of 2016-2019 where Deft either didnt qualify for worlds or was eliminated. Side note in 2016 SKT T1 won a 3rd world championship making Faker and is teammate Bengi the only 3 time world chamiopns and making SKT T1 the only team to win 3 world titles and 2 world titles in a row.
The secne on the ice takes place during worlds 2020, we see Deft on Senna while playing on a team called DRX. Then we see Doran jump down in front of Deft, Doran is playing Jax (Doran is the guy with the lampost as a wepon). Then we see a play called Canyon who is playing Graves (player in the blue tracksuit with the gun) slide past Doran as shot Deft, after that we see Showmaker on his iconic Syndra (blue tracksuit with all the purple orbs around him). Showmaker uses Syndra ultiamte to try and finish of Deft but Keria, whos is playing Braum (Shield guy), jumps in the way blocking the ult however Showmaker kills Deft in the end. Showmaker and Canyon play on a team called DWG KIA, DWG eliminates DRX in the quaterfinas in a 3-0 blow out. DWG went on to win worlds in 2020.
I also want to point out the shot were we see Deft crying could be referencing his emtional inteview during worlds 2022 where on his birthday he won is first quaterfinals since 2014 and when the interview asked "it has been 2942 days since you made the last semifinal what does it mean to finally be back?" before he could respond he broke down crying in front of the crowd and the interviewer and the people watching the livestream.
In the ending part of the video we see Deft's teammates lifting him up to his feet, Kingen, Pyosik, Zeka, Deft and Beryl make up DRX in 2022. They barely qualify for worlds and have to go through play-ins, during play-in DRX go undefeated and move on to the group stage, the scene were DRX is coming up on the platfrom in the arena represents their climb through play-ins. The person standing in front of Deft in the red, black and white jacket is his former teamate Meiko who is still on EDG and the year prior he won worlds, Deft his holding axes as during game 3 of the quaterfinals EDG was up 2-0 and was looking to beat DRX in a clean 3-0. Deft locked in Draven (champ with the axes) up to this point in time Deft had never won on Draven in his whole career, however Deft was able to win the game and lead DRX to a 3-2 reverse sweap win agasint EDG and defeating his former teammate. Then we see Deft playing Varus in the semifinals (the bow on his back) and behind him appears another old teammate Doran who is on GEN G. Doran is so big as he is playing a champion call Renekton and Renekton's ult makes him big, after a clear 3-1 DRX beat GEN G and move on to the finals. At the finals Deft who is playing Caitlyn (big sniper) runs into another former teammate Keria, Keria who is now on T1 (formerly SKT T1) is playing Karma (green dragons behind his head). Deft get the upper hand and during game 5 with DRX and T1 as 2-2 it all looks to be over and it looks like DRX are going to win, then out of nowhere one more fimilar face shows up, Faker the unkillable demon king himself shows up playing Viktor (Staff with the blue energy). Faker then gets the upper hand of Deft and it looks like once again Faker has out done Deft. Then like angels from heaven the rest of DRX shows up, Kingen on Aatrox (big red sword), Pyosik on Hecarim (Silver Glaive), Zeka on Azir (guy with the gold staff who puts up the wall) and Beryl on Bard (The guy on the right of Deft with the green instrament on his shoulder). Deft then ends with by using Caitlyn ult. After this DRX wins worlds and Deft gets his first title ater starting in 2013 and DRX gets a cinderella story and are also the only team to win worlds after coming from play-ins. Also the wining scene as the pick up the trophy are all mataching the irl bordcast and reactions
At the very end we see other pro players looking at the trophy wanting to win it in order we see: Ayu on the left and Hans Sama on the right. Next frame we see Blaber on the left and Josedeodo on the far right. next sence we see 369 on the left catching the dice and Choovy behind him. The next frame has Levi, Azhi and Yutapoon as shown on their jackets.
sorry for this being so long I tried to make it all as clear as possible!! :3

My favorite anthem has been Rise from 2018. This may take the cake or a close 2nd now. Just such a great feel and can really pump you up.

Ima say it since nobody else will. This blows Lil Nas X out the water entirely in 2022. I'm glad New Jeans handled this. THIS IS A LEAGUE SONG (i've never played a single game in my life. but i've heard every worlds song)

I wasn't a big fan of top-down or moba games either before I started playing League, I don't like any other games like it, yet I keep coming back. I'm not sure if it's the music, the character design, or what, but Riot really do be releasing bangers (almost) every time.

I can't stand his music overall but I thought last year's anthem was really good. The only one I like better is legends never die and that's only the Jonathan Young cover which uh...I'm still waiting to see you leave your chair, body, and reality over lol.
