- My complete set of series 26 Space Collectable Minifigures arrived teh day BEFORE their launch.
So I;ve opened them all up and they are all GREAT !
LEGO Minifigures Series 26 Unboxing!!
Great overall review. An absolute banger of a series in my opinion. I love the homage to old classic space figures. Personally i love that they are unique and not a rehash. There are a number of them which I definitely will be army building. My favorite of the lot is the insect looking one. I do believe it is a reference to the Buggoids from galaxy squad. They have the same exact torso printing. For the retro space girl. I think the robot dog has pink eyes to match the girls outfit. Being a robotic animal, I would imagine it to be customizable and like a matching accessory the eyes would change to match accordingly. I will be getting a full case of figures soon. But stores here have already started selling them early. I picked up a whole bunch of them on Saturday.
Yes, I totally agree, maybe the best series yet, since the start in 2010.
The "tribute" figs are as good as I hoped they would be.
I did wonder if it was a Bugged tribute, but the head and wings made it look so vastly different that I dismissed teh idea. (I must admit I didn't;t compare teh torso printing!!!!! - Well spotted!)
They seem to have been out early in a LOT of places. I bought my Android Nurse online on the 24th, SEVEN days early! and it arrived 4 days before launch. (see vid: ruclips.net/video/5OmAe2wYoro/видео.html)
And I was at a Lego Show last Sunday and MANY sellers had boxes of them for sale (see vid: ruclips.net/video/jr9nUzgdoeY/видео.html)

the alien beetlezoid is a reference to the insect aliens from galaxy squad. their torso printings are incredibly similar
Yes, several people have now pointed that out to me, I was looking at the head shape which didn't match anything, but the torso is definitely reminiscent of the Galaxy Squad aliens.

That's GREAT to hear about teh space parts in teh Build-A-Minifigure bins. I might have to pop along to my local store and see if they have them too.

@@user-tl2hm6ld7i I went to the Southampton store yesterday and they also had the new space parts in the BAM wall.
They had teh legs, teh torso with green arms, and teh torso with dark blue arms.
They also had a torso with the space logo and a red diagonal on it, which ISN'T in the new space sets!!!
I'm trying to track down what it is !!!

I'm hoping to pick some of these up from a shop or shops tomorrow. With luck, I'll find the one with the pink space baby in it.
The beetlezoid - one of the others I'm looking forwards to - is a homage to the 2013 Galaxy Squad theme. The torso print is pretty much identical to that of the buggoid aliens from that range, the only difference being the colours. The design is the same.

Someone else commented about the GS Buggoids earlier. I had looked at them but as the head was so different and they'd added wings, I'd discounted it as a tribute to them... I didn't check the torso printing well enough!!!!

I already have the Bricksearch app and used it for Series 25. It’s a game changer that makes me OK with the switch from packets to boxes. My worry is not that I won’t be able to identify what I want. It’s that the shop(s) nearest me will be out of stock of the popular ones such as the nurse & space baby by tomorrow evening, the earliest I can make it :~/
@@drzander3378 I don't suppose you have a Lego Brand store near you? Someone I know went to the Southampton store, and the staff had already pre-sorted a lot of boxes, so you could get what you wanted.
There’s a LEGO brand store an hour away, but it’s not an area I have any other reason to go to. Two hours (one hour each way) is a long time for a few minifigures!

I was not impressed with this series a few months ago when you posted your original video… but they have since grown on me!
They showed up early at a few stores in my area, so I already have three of them. I hope to get them all!
I'm glad you've grown to like them, I think it's one of the best series in CMF's 14 year history.

@@MinifigJez I do use Bricksearch…it was a lifesaver for completing Series 25! I, however, have not been able to get it to work with the Space series.

Saw these in store recently but decided against buying a couple. I have since regretted that decision!
Download the Bricksearch app, and then if you see them again, you can scan the matrix code on teh box and work out which figure is inside !!!

i was to young to get any of the old Lego space sets but it is so cool to be able to get some of them in a modren version i hope at some point we get to see mission to mars and Lego space police.

Because I'm so fascinated by space babies, I started a project on lego ideas last year called "Classic Space Baby Command Base" which contains two blue, white, red, yellow, green and black classic space babies. I hope we get a lot more colors and it doesn't end with the pink one. 🧑🚀🛰♥

@@MonsieurGreenhorn Yes I've seen lots of people add it to their Every Spaceman is awesome displays, but I wanted to keep mine separate. Which does give me the problem of mixing Space Babies and Micro Astronauts!
I'm still in two minds which is my favourite...
Space Baby = very cute
Micro Astro = Classic !
This series is the best since the monsters theme series 14, Dungeons and dragons looks appealing as well?.
I'd actually forgotten about the Monsters series! My set's in storage somewhere.
But with my love of all things space, this series my JUST beat the Monsters (only in my opinion, of course!)

is the bulldog maybe a reference to K-9?
I suppose it could be a possibility, but it’s a bit of a stretch, especially as they’ve actually made a Minifig scale K9. Apart from them both being robot dogs, I’m not sure what the connection to the retro space girl would be.

Why did they not add spyrius?
I imagine that because there are SO many sub-themes of Lego space, that they just couldn't do them all. Personally I'd have loved to get an Exploriens or Unitron minifig. But it's great that Lego gave us a few tributes to classic space.
