It's really surprising that this Genocidal maniac is the same person that wanted to help another person suffering from bloodlust. According to Artifact lore, she saw herself in Omniknight, a paladin from the Omnicient order, and she wanted to help him find peace.
Her genocidal tendencies are a part of her, she used to be the “scourge of the plains” and repented or ran from that life, I guess her last life catches up and still affects her, more on the artifact lore, she also sees herself in Sorla Khan as well!
If my boy Balanar appears in the future, I'd love to see him have his story revolve around Luna's. Their quotes in the game seems to paint them as arch-foes of sorts, and witnessing Luna be such a bloodthirsty nocturnal psycho-nutter in this universe would make her play off of the Night Stalker's inherent monstrous qualities quite well, right down to their similar natures, if done right.
She deserves to face the consequences of her actions. But we shouldn't forget that Selemene's to blame for all this... Man, I just feel bad for Luna. Gaslighted and made to believe that she was doing what should be done... (Waiting for them to drop that so called "goddess" soon)

If you look at her expressions and the quotes, you will notice she is and has always been a monster, and rather than being helped by Selemene, she was thrown deeper into the hole, weaponized by her very Goddess who also used her as a scapegoat for atrocities she has committed. It's clear even Luna regrets her actions, and to do all those things only to be blamed for it in return...yeah.

Luna the Moon rider, despite being the prominent antagonist, an antagonist that you understand and sympathize.
it's amazing how complex they made her character out to be.
