Invoker's arc in Dota: Dragon's Blood is my favorite. I applaud the writers for making it seem real and raw, they gave this sad elf dad a motivation to do what he's doing but it's still so sad how he never got to live the life he wanted with his daughter in the home she made for them. Literally cried while re-watching Invoker and Filomena's scenes, and I can't wait to know more about what happens next to him and the rest of the characters in the series!

If not for the fact that is caused her death, Filomena's refusal to submit to her mother was probably the proudest moment of Invoker's entire life.
And a shameful one to her mother, the wanted to be work ship by her own child is insanely unforgivable. I wish he killed her when he was had the chance to or even tortured her to death.

He wants her to feel the pain he felt by losing the most precious thing to him - his daughter. The most precious thing for Selemene is her obsession for being a God, so he made her feel miserable, took off her powers and let the demon literally smash her to the ground from the sky.

I was so happy when that Selemene got what she deserved in the end. Invoker asking do u love me to her after hurting her just like how she did to him was so satisfying.

I love how filomena has the most firm belief and most stable mindset in this anime based on her conversation with selemene considering some are blinded by their religion, a knight who is struck with excessive irony, a mage who is too much of a simp, and a princess cares too much about the very place she called home even though they abandoned her. and then there's marci which is the only one here who we can call a goddess.

hes a little more convluted than that i think. it seems like hes a good guy but he appears to have some secret agenda with terrorblade. something about giving him the souls of the eldwyrms, but for what? terrorblade's already killed selemene and the invoker got his revenge. and not only that, there have been a lot of 180s in the show, we'd be hard pressed to just guess

Fun Fact: After Carl's daughter dies he switches sides from Radiant to Dire
many people really is confusing the whole dire and radiant thing. in dota 2 Radiant and Dire are neither good nor evil. and many of the so called "dire heroes" has nothing to do with dire. same goes for radian heroes. in dragon`s blood. Terrorblade wanted to gain the 4 elemental and fundamental powers to defeat the Ancient (radiant and dire). which is chronologically speaking hasn`t fully manifested in the land of Dota. the first hint of the Ancient`s existence in dragons blood is that episode where mirana found a fragment of dire which transforms most humans into zombies (which in reality they are slowly turning into dire creeps).
@@patricksusulin9335 Actually they were a whole at once but fractured because of Elder Titan, that's why Arc Warden always talks about the imperfect state of the whole universe. As for the 4 fundamentals...even those are separated, Ezalor (Keeper of the Light) and Io or Santelmo ( Guardian Wisp) are good and fight for the Radiant while Nessaj ( Chaos Knight) and Darchrow ( Enigma) fight for the Dire. They are separated and the heroes as well. As for your info if you need, most of the new heroes are of the Radiant side. Monkey King (Sun Wukong), Dark Willow ( Mireska) even though shes known for stealing, she stole to help poor people, Pangolier ( Donte), Hoodwink and even Dawnbreaker (Valora)...only Mars and Grimstroke are to Dire. As for the Invoker (Carl) he never was good. He fights for the Dire. In the game he sees no one as an ally since he relies on his magic to annihilate anyone who opposes him. In Dragon's Blood the universe is a bit more altered. The best example is Davion and Mirana having no connection in the game. You sort of confuse the game with the series of Netflix.

Same thought :( I don't think she did it out of spite though because of how touchy the subject was to her a thousand years later. Maybe she planned it all along in a scheme to make Invoker and her daughter finally worship her (?) but it just didn't go as planned when Filomena refused to say the words
@@deku1438 My theory is that Filomena's soul is not whole because she is Mene's incarnation. Selemene giving love to her will give Filomena power. It will then restore Mene's power, thus Selemene will lose the power she stole. Invoker may have known all along so he decided to leave Selemene. He gave in and hoped Selemene did truly love them both.

It is the absolute inability of man kind to discern truth from falsehood which is the source of all conflict and error. Compassion arises from this understanding, that even though we are all accountable for what we do, we are simultaneously innocent.
True love which has no equal or opposite is all inclusive and ever forgiving actually to the point where forgiveness no longer has meaning. We see a certain degree of this love in Invoker prior to the death of his daughter where he was willing to go to any length to save her. This is why we universally like Invoker. This love however, if it ever was directed towards Selemene, is absent.
True love was also absent in his daughter, were it present, there also would've been compassion for the mother. She would have recognized her mother's innate innocence and mistaken belief that happiness would come from the condition of being worshiped. Perhaps recognizing her mother's desire to be worshipped would've lead to complying with Selemene's demands anyway because, well, We can all ask ourselves: "What are you willing to do for someone you love?" and the answer is always "almost anything" as opposed to what we are willing to do for someone we don't love, or hate. We wouldn't even give them our presence or attention.
Verily the desire to "have a mother" as opposed to a god is equal to the desire of "Being a worshipped god". Both mother and daughter held on conditional love for each other and not the real deal, it is just that one had a position of power and the other didn't.
Anyway, the half-ass conclusion to my rant of an essay is if the show had true love everywhere and everyone was jolly happy and everyone worked together then we would not have such a emotionally impactful show.
The Harry Potter books touch on this to, the department of mystery has a door that feels warm to the touch, that is the door where love is researched, even Dumbledore says it, "Love is a powerful force of magic, but it is also dangerous"

Everytime I hear his name and dialogue, it is like castlevania dracula animated series.
Poor man, he did everything he could to save his daughter, including giving his worship to Selemene, yet she refused to worship her mother, so he had to watch his own daughter die because Selemene refused to heal her as a result. "Do you love me" speaks volumes.
One of the cruelest satisfying revenge story ever. Gosh I wish I get an amnesia and watch it again n again. He proved his point in the whole show that how much he loved his daughter (she was such an innocent soul and deserved to live her life) and to what depths a father can go for his children. Damn man who would've thought that an anime would bring these characters to life

As an invoker player, i gotta say im proud i got him in lvl 27 and almost mastering it, but his lore is just beautiful and sad af, not even 1000years made him forget the pain inside and love he had for her daughter, i just wanna see selemene as a pickable hero in the game just to beat her ass myself 😢 still this vid is 10/10 beautiful edit, perfect song, best scenes.
Damn, I didn’t know Invoker’s back story is so tragic. Can’t blame him for what he will become.
This video is absolutely stunningly well put together. 10/10 audio blending so you can hear the music clearly yet still the vocals from the scenes. Invoker's story in this part of the series is the most touching example of the lengths a father would go to for his little girl.

He is mastermind he managed to turn salemine's followers to her enemies and next he made a pact with TB. And i think he's very strong becuse he killed prewrym of Water. I dont know why this show isn't popular? It's one of the best anime on Netflix go be honest.

True man who has never lost his hope to save daughter. I rly changed my attitude to this character after what I've seen.

The multiple realities all coalesce into the dire-radiant war. And since Invoker is there, it's safe to assume that Filomena dies in all possible timelines.
There won't be Invoker if Filomena didn't die, and the Ancient need Invoker for their Dire-Radiant war

Terrorblade says that there have been thousands of filomenas and that Selemene always casts her daughter away to die in each reality, so sadly for the little girl it seems like her mother always chooses the worship over lore scenario and lets her die.
in the last episode terrorblade asks selemene how many more Filomena does she has to sacrifice in order to get what she wants. bitch is fucking crazy for power that she's willing to neglect her daughter in exchange.

My headcannon :
Invoker WAS an Arsenal Magus. Really arrogant and boastful about his abilities until she met Selemene. He had a child. He then change his life from arrogant and boastful to living and caring to his daughter.
My headcannon for the future : Since the anime takes place many years before the war of the ancient, we can assume a lot of things happened in between. Since the war of the ancient started Invoker became once again arrogant and prideful, I think something happened to Invoker that causes him to become the arrogant, condescending, and prideful again. Maybe a memory alteration causing him to forget about his daughter. That seems most likely.
But it's all a theory.

Sorry if my english is bad , but my theory is that war for ancients are already held once or more becayse if you see scattered planet in the back of the moon in the anime was planet that once held war for ancient , and what really make this theory strong is that mirana found broken piece of dire shard in cave that makes people to creeps or more likely zombies. So i think that planet is broken because of endless war and ancients are broken into tiny pieces
and even in the first episode , it said there was always wars between radiamt amd dire , and you can see their clash like portrait photos , i remember i saw tiny and some other heroes was fighting each other and they was holding red shard in the episode 1 at very beginning like around 1 2 min
@@capalottravis8688 yeah I saw the intro in Ep 1 but I think that was meant as a reference to the actual game. The war of the ancient has not started since Davion is not a full on Dragon knight as seen in the games. But it still a theory

Invoker devoted his just to create a perfect world for his daughter,, attempted hundred times that took him thousands of years, for just one thing; to have more time together with his daughter. He knew he couldn't change and stop death. He then attempted as his last try, and still failed, but atleast he realize and smile in the end, And he's happy the last time he spent with his daughter.
