I remember reporting here 10 years ago and getting dropped off in Camp Funston geo barracks as a brand new private. Worst introduction to the Army I could of had but I’m glad to see it’s improved

C/2/16 1969 RVN. I get to wear my Big Red One on my right shoulder. Out of all the stuff I have, my Big Red One and CIB are the 2 things I value the most.

As an Army wife, I loved Fort Riley in itself... Kansas weather on the other hand was atrocious and from one extreme to the other!!! DO NOT PLACE ANY ITEM THAT CAN BE BLOWN AWAY IN YOUR YARD!!!! Gazebos, child forts...etc... your neighbors will own the broken parts!!!

I stayed in those buildings in 67.before gong to my unit in camp Forsyth. to the 67th signal then ETS after 4 months. Yeah we went to Junction City to drink . There were a lot of guys retuning from Vietnam there. I was one of them. There were no rooms just open bay barracks with about 20 or thirty guys

Kansas national Guard. Riley sucks. Armpit of the army. Or rather sucked when we drilled there, which was way too often. So glad Riley is in my rearview mirror now.
