Diana Vishneva is one of the few ballerinas I’ve seen who actually does the opening passage the way it’s supposed to be done; a double ronde de jambe ending with a high developpe a la seconde. Many ballerinas cheat on this step because it’s so difficult and so exposed. If you screw it up, everyone can tell. She’s got a lot of technical security to back up that expressiveness. I love watching her.
@@bettymeireles86 You said "Nope." Where does Aves Raggiana say Diana Vishneva is the "best" at it, or better than Svetlana? Simply said "one of the few." So what are you disagreeing with?
@@radjedi2010 oh it's because she said she did it the way it's supposed to be done. I wouldn't really say that because she did make a few mistakes, she needs to practice a little bit more but I still like her.
OLTREMODO BRAVA BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO
I wonder why there seems to be barely any footage of her dancing this role... I still 'stop by' to watch this variation from time to time but I wish there was more to see; personally I always enjoy to see her interpretations.
I am a huge fan of both Marianela and Diana and I dont understand your comment , "sloppy" and I dont see it at all. I have been trained both in Vagonova and RAD , I see differences in both their stellar technique's , But in my trained eye I do not see "sloppy" in Diana's white swan solo .
Yeah I don't know what people mean by sloppy. I wouldn't say that it's sloppy, I would just say that she is not the best Odette I've ever seen but not SLOPPY. Whoever said sloppy is a big hater.
I completely concur with with every thing youve said - may I ad this about Dianas " barely there sissones " The white swan is now in human form, she is bound by gravity and is no longer able to fly off & this is evident in the heaviness of her sissones This tells more about the character then most other's attempts at the choreography. If Odette is danced as if she is in continues flight it cant do the character justice when she is only perceived as a swan and not cursed woman .
A little correction about the term double jointed. It does not mean a person have double joints, it just means that if you're double jointed you can bend your joints more than the average person and that your joints and their surrounding structures, known as ligaments and tendons, are unusually flexible, enabling you to bend or rotate them in ways that some people find impossible and painful. From a medical viewpoint, being double jointed is also known as having hypermobility.
SUB , F-ing Blime ..... .I think of all the balerinas I have seen dance Odette , Diana seems very sensual and Its not a bad thing....no no no ! I think its refreshing and this makes Odette more real for me , , Not just 2 dimensional This would make any hetro man /prince want to save her . This is My fav White Swan, BTW , M Nunez is my favorite Blk Swan
I was replying to your comment (obviously) and I was referring to your statement implying that there is no such thing as double jointed anything because there is such a thing as double joints, in fact the correct term for it is Hypermobility, some people often mistake the term "double jointed" as having many joints but in fact in just means that the person's joints are unusually more flexible than what is normal. So you see, there is such a thing as double joints.
I stand corrected on Vishnyeva’s technical execution. You’re right, she begins the ronde de jambe down low before flicking her leg high å la seconde, and the way I understood it was supposed to be done was the way you described. I remain curiously impervious to Zakharova’s talents as a dancer. Her purely decorative insteps and her static, flex-o-rina way with the dance make it difficult for me to watch her.
@rainbow4life68 Well obviously! One has been given the title of prima and the other hasn't. Not to mention one was taught in the US while the other in Russia! But I don't think you should down Murphy. You can't deny, she has talent
Don't assume because I didn't explain that she and many others are hypermobile in their joints that I don't know what it means or that it even exists. No it was not obvious to me that you were replying to me. There is no such thing as double joints. In one breath you clearing up a misconception and in another your perpetuating it in your last sentence. I got what you were saying but your last statement is completely contradictory and nonsensical.
Yeah she needs to train a little more cuz she's been making a few mistakes, but I still kind of like her. Obviously she is not the best odette but I still like her.

She does almost every prima role like it's her perfect fit. Her swan is no exception.
Everything about this was flawless.
I saw her performance of this last night at the Met. She truly is a wonder and a gift to ballet. A moving and well emotional performance!
How do you know its a she? You don't know her gender or her preferred pronouns.
oooo god shes beautiful. i saw her do dying swan live and i cried the entire time
her hands, speechless
Absolutely she IS the Swan, great point.
Luv her , and she add so much more then just the iconic Swan Lake poses in her solo
She is my favourite of this era of dance because her emotional intuition and intelligence as a dancer is barre none.

I love Diana❤❤❤❤
Awesome....the complete package👏👏👏
She’s beautiful!!!….. 👏👏👏👏👏
THANK YOU!! WONDERFUL! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! BLESSINGS!!
YES DIANA!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!
Omg she is awesome I didn't thought she would be so good. She is not the best Odette I have ever seen but she is a really good odette.
The second theme of this variation is one of my favourites of Tchaikovsky's; sometimes the tempo is too fast, but here it's perfect.
For me the best prima ballerina in the world.Sooo beautiful.I love her.
Just perfect 💕
I like her a lot! :) I could find criticism in her dances but I really like her!

Amazing Russian ballerina! 😍💎
Amazing
Es magnifica...
Aaah, this was uploaded 3 days before my birthday, but I was born in 2006!
@rainbow4life68 Gillian is such joy to watch! And I admit this despite being russian and big fan of Diana who is the Dancer of the century.
SUPERB!
Diana is my favorite ballerina!
But this one I give to Lopatkina!
When it to comes Aurora !?!
Nobody touches Diana there period!

super. a modern Fonteyn
Pause at 1:33 dang !
The most natural I have ever seen, even more so than Lopatkina and Zakharova

There is something wrong with the set of pirouettes she did at the end. She got unbalanced at 2:04. But I still think she did good.
I saw it too! And maybe 2:10 also But she recovered beautifully, like the great pro and artist that she is.
When was this performance? Thanks
Maya Plisetskaya will always be my favorite swan

@chickensrkool16 But this isn't Zakharova. There's no need to compare. Just say whether or not you liked it. It's unecessary.
Lovely expressive upper body. However Svetlana is better at the steps and footwork. Still the best all around ballerina that I’ve seen yet far.
Some balance issues could work out easy. But there are Diana’s other repertoires suits her better than this

@chickensrkool16 well zakharova is the goddess of this role and vishneva was temporarily filling in! ;)
Shes so thin
It seems that her tutu doesn't fit her body well. That makes me feel twitchy...

still Swan lake isn't for her...

Yeah she needs to practice a little more but she did good. At least she tried and that is the most important thing.
