    I lost family members in concentration camps. Anyone in today's information-rich world who learns of abuses and ignores them is fueling the fires in which human beings will eventually burn. Simon Wiesenthal said, "I believe that there is no other solution than to constantly engage with the past and to learn from it." Thanks for standing up for principles even when it costs you. Love the channel, mate.

      @FilmTravelerMatt Thank you for the kind words and sincere condolences for the inhumane travasties your family suffered. I've witnessed firsthand the exact spots where people were tortured and murdered in a camp called Ravensbruck. It's the most disgusting thing a person could ever do.

    There is no safe list of companies out there, you will have to research the companies you buy from to find out if they are complying with the US law Congress passed.

      If you won’t tell us the company name the why make this video!?

      @markdrape It's not just one company, this is my experience with this company. However, there are many companies doing this. I want people to stop and think about the things they buy.

    Good to hear an honest response to an ongoing issue. I have just started doing so leather work and need to purchase a revolving punch. Since there are so many positive and negative reviews of the same tool it is hard to know what to buy in a range of $30-$60. Since I feel I can trust your judgement, what would you recommend? Also where is a good place to buy leather? In my late 70's so am not looking for professional tools. Thanks and really appreciate your remarks in this video.

      @lessmiles I've only used the cheap rotary punches, and it never took long for them to get messed up. I like using drive punches that you got with a mallet. They do make nicer versions of the rotary punches, but I really can't suggest a particular one.
      As far as safe leather tool manufacturers, I'm not sure who is 100% safe. I just know the company I spoke of is really becoming popular, and their prices are too good to be true, so this is why I researched them.
      I would assume most manufacturers in the US, UK, EU, and probably Japan are most likely to be safe. The best thing to do would be to contact a particular country and ask them if they follow the "Uyghur Policy Act." If you are calling and need the pronunciation, I think it's pronounced "Wee-grrrr".
      I have bought my leather mainly from Tandy and Weaver in the past, so I need to contact them and see what their policies are for myself. You can also buy straight from the tanneries like Herman Oak, Wicket-Craig, or Horween, which all operate in the US, to my knowledge.

    Missed you, glad to see you are safe. I say find a young person who is just starting out who can't afford the tools and give them a "leg" up. I do know what you are referring to, and their plight is horrible, but the tools now can do good for someone here.

      @revann33 Thank you so much for the kind words. It is very sad what is going on and is a shame in our day and age it can still happen. I'm sure that said that in the 1940s as well. I know I said it in the 1990s.

    Turn them into something that brings awareness to this situation

    • @bigstacksshop
      @bigstacksshop  7 месяцев назад

      @rickyrygg7183 I would love to do that. I just think they are so cheap if I sell them they won't bring much money.

    • @rickyrygg7188
      @rickyrygg7188 7 месяцев назад +1

      You could set them up in a display picture frame type of thing with a description of what is going on where they are made and either sell as a awareness item or donate it as an awareness item to some awareness group to show what to look out for ,just one thought but don't get too down on yourself for not knowing we as mortals can not know everything,god bless.

    I applaud you sir. THese are made by peoples suffering. Badly. What do we do ? You are doing what you believe is right. Thats about all we can do in a world where money is God. That stinks. All the best to you sir. Keith.

      @user-hk5zb4oi7i Thank you my friend. I didn't know what to do when I stumbled upon this - but I felt people bad to know. It wasn't an easy video to make and it's kind of a downer to the channel, but it was very important to me to tell this story.

    Auction them and donate the money to a charity, maybe even one dedicated to fight the very problem you are talking about, if such exists

    • @bigstacksshop
      @bigstacksshop  9 месяцев назад +1

      @majerihno They weren't that expensive where they'll get a lot from auction, but your post did lead me in a good direction. I did look up and there is a charity set up to help raise awareness to the situation. I'll check them out and if they are legit, I'll not only donate money, but introduce them to the Big Stacks Family. Thank you for the idea.
