The French archers attacked the tower by day for six weeks, unleashing a total of what was possibly over 10,000 arrows. In the end, ONE man was killed inside the tower, and eventually the French withdrew and went home. That's usually how it went. Slow, boring and casualties were few. Sieges mostly relied on starvation or less frequently sappers to undermine the walls. These cinematic "it's all over in an hour" type battles are good action but historically inaccurate.
