My steel plant unknowingly hired an illegal from central America. I had like 3 more years job senority over him. But apparently since he was older, he thought that somehow automatically gave him job senority over me. He was trying to weasel his way into my position & would get all pissed off when I wouldn't let him order me around. Imagine if some gringo went to central America. Took a locals job then tried to boss co-workers around who had more senority. 😂 🤡 Omar ended up getting into a domestic dispute. Arrested, fired & deported. Bye-bye Omar have a nice trip home.
Thats an interesting observation. I do believe that people are judged on their looks, and in some cases discriminated against. They are often bullied too. Really sad.

Lamont At Large, I think a person can be spoken to that way being overweight. (When my mother was older, still working (not overweight tho), how a young employee was treating her. She saw that my mother was upset. I think another employee spoke to the young employee how she was making my mother feel. She apologized to my mother, but if my mother had not reacted like she did, would she kept on with her behavior?) Some employees like to throw their weight around, have had it happened to me.

I had a temp job in the kitchen of a country club. One day I came in at 3:30 and saw the owner of the country club washing dishes. I didn't say anything as there was a HUGE pile of unwashed dishes and I had a lot to do to prep for the evening meal. A half hour later the owner of the country club called me over (and I thought "Here it comes") to explain how he argued with and fired the dish washer. I listened to him and when he finished he said "Thank you for listening. You can go back to work now." I was so relieved and when the head chef came in I told him what happened (he laughed).
He was not insulting you at all. "Fat" if anything helped. The line never trust a thin chef started somewhere. Just a cook knowing his way turns out the dish he wants. Was this to let us know you were working again::)
