Newford Farm beef heifers slaughter performance

Michael Fagan, Teagasc Technician on the Newford Suckler Demonstration Farm gives a brief update on the slaughter performance on the Newford beef heifers who were drafted off grass at 17 ½ months of age with no meal.
Paul Nolan, Group Development Manager of Dawn Meats gives an overview of the 20 heifer carcasses and their sale potential. The carcasses are ideally suited to their best markets and all are in spec - carcasses of R3 grade coming in at just under 300 kilo average carcass.
