Wheeling with Jeremy McGrath in Kawasaki KRX 1000

- We linked up with our new friend, Jeremy McGrath (7x Supercross champ), and the Kawasaki PR and Media team for a rock-crawling trail ride at Sand Hollow for day 1 of Trail Hero.
He was driving his 2 seat, Turbo-charged, KRX 1000 on 35” tires. Maxxis Mike joined us in his KRX, debuting the new 37x17 inch Roxxzilla tires.
We decided to ditch the crowds and stay away from the busier trails closer to the lake and headed over to Sliplock and John’s Trail.

Jeremy was my idol growing up, still think the world of him. I loved watching him dominate everyone in motocross, it was so exciting as a teenager to watch him race. Cool video guys.

Always rooted against McGrath in Supercross but ultimate respect for the guy. I hope he brings great things to UTV racing for Kawi. I love Honda and Kawi and would love to see both of them steal the thunder from Polaris and Can Am.
It’d be awesome to them come up and take some of the W’s at the big races!

Hi guys, another fun video! I am planning on picking up the new 4 seat KRX 1000 but would like a shorter cage. I cannot seem to find an aftermarket cage for the new 4 seat KRX anywhere just yet. The new cage on Eric’s KRX 4 looks sick! Is it a VooDoo cage or is it made by someone else? Thanks!

I’m going to Moab in a week and I have a stock turbo s 4 seat with stock tires… I was wondering what psi in the tires do you guys recommend running for the trails there?
7-8 would be recommended

Nice video, considering getting a KRX 4 and have a few questions.
Have you guys had any trouble with the front diffs, axles or transmissions on the KRX’s running 35inch tires?
Stock clutching is good with 35’s?
Also, did the 37’s fit on the KRX without any rubbing?

We haven’t had any problems with stock diffs or axles or trans. The 35s run great on stock clutching, but could be made better with a clutch kit (we haven’t done one yet on either of our KRXs)
The Maxxis rep running the 37s said he had to trim the plastics a little on the bottom corner, and mentioned that he will likely do some clutching to recover some of the power loss

To be honest though I have no idea why you guys aren’t wearing helmets? For some reason the utv and especially the rock guys in all kinds of machinery aren’t into them. I don’t understand that at all.
Hey Mike, we appreciate the support. We’ve been talking about getting some helmets for some of our faster paced rides, specifically the sand dune rides. On these slower rides, while it’s never a bad idea to have a helmet on, we trust the 4 point harnesses and extra thick wall custom roll cages to hold up on a very low speed tip-over. The biggest potential danger we have crawling like this is accidentally sticking out arms out if we started to tip.
Thanks for the info. I stick with agat which means all the gear all the time but everyone has their own style.
