Touring Bike Build For Bikepacking

The bike is built and the shakedown rides are completed (3 of them). I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I modified Emily's old '90s model Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike. It should be a fine starter bike for me to do a few overnight trips. This will help me see if doing bike tours / bikepacking is my thing. It is ready for a Fall '24 ride(s). I think I'm going to do an overnight trip on the Natchez Trace Parkway when the weather cools down a bit for my first overnight trip.

I learned a lot from watching @miseyrides FACT!
I think I'm just going to go from our house in Bellevue down to the the campground on the Trace near Hohenwald (Meriweather Lewis). 60-ish miles. Then come back the next day. That'll be a good first ride (and not too far from home if I have to call in help! LOL). My son Max might come with me. He was with me on my last epic fail. I'm going to wait for it to cool off a bit so the camping won't be miserable. I'm watching the weather leading up to Labor Day weekend (but it'll probably still be too hot). Definitely will get it in before fall is over, however. I'll let you know, when we get it nailed down a bit more it would be fun to hang out with you.
