Then, you, Need a cat! I have had several over 50 years or more and they have even there when needed and have been good listeners when needed, but now I have developed an allergy to ther fur, as well as some dog's fur. So no more pets or me.
I see so many videos of people letting their animals ride on their shoulder, or on their lap, while driving. That is not a responsible thing to do. Slam on your brakes, get in an accident, the airbag may save you, but your pet is through the windshield, or crushed by the airbag. Pets need to be in secured carriers or belts. Love them. Don’t risk their lives for “cuteness”.
most of these people are Americans. the same people who think big sockets for soft drinks are essentials in a car and who have no compunction holding a phone while driving.

I love cats, and I always have. My father hated cats, so I never had any growing up. Didn't change a thing. I've had multiple cats in my adult life, the longest living some 17years. I'd love to have another, but as I'm 72 years old, I have great hesitation. With any pet, you're obligated for the life of that pet; and as I am 72, I have no idea how much longer I'll be here. I will always love cats, but I don't want to strand anyone, cat or otherwise
