Nicely done and informative. I think I learned as much or more from your genuine enthusiastic response than I have from watching many other more technical videos. Have my cataract consult in two days and am seriously considering light adjustable Lenses with mono vision.

Too much talking too little information. Finally, at the 7:30 mark or so we get the 30 seconds of detail that matters. Still don’t know who makes the lens or what to ask for.

You forgot to mention the UV protection glasses are only worn until the lock in is done .

Thank you, Dr. Shank for an interesting explanation of Light Adjustable Lens. Considering them myself, TBD!

I had the RXSight LAL (light adjustable lense) put in both eyes at the same time. 48 hours ago. I had high astigmatism and high farsightedness in both eyes. I can already see very well at an intermediate distance, although I do have minor healing artifacts as my corneas heal. They give you 1.5 power uv protective bifocals along with the other clear and dark glasses. The LAL now has ActiveShield and the use of the UV protective glasses is less critical. Anyway, I will have blurry distance vision and need the bifocals for up close until I go back for the light adjustment treatments. At that, and subsequent appointments, they will further tweak my prescription until we decide to finalize and lock the lenses permanently.

Are LALs okay for Macular Degeneration? I am 77, have no signs of it yet in my vision.
