I always had the impression the Traveler has already taken a different path from the Abyss Twin since the beginning of the game, especially if we go with 'it's the choices in the journey that matter.' There's been a consistent theme with the traveler in every nation: Mondstadt - band together with friends to save a dragon Liyue - team up with the adepti and humans to defeat the threat Inazuma - Literally combine/resonate with all the ambitions of the people to rival a god Sumeru - Use all the knowledge of the people to outwit and take down a faux god Fontaine - Collaborate with every faction of the court to expose the truth During the Traveler's journey, yeah, they've been going to presumably the same places as their twin. But I haven't gotten the impression from the twin that they tried to understand or befriend the people/gods from those places they visited. The Traveler puts the time and care to establish relationships with the lives that make up this world. While the abyss twin seeks to destroy the order of the world. The Traveler connects with people and their dreams - their wills. Is it really all that surprising that this twin ends up being a descender - a being that holds a will that is equal to that of the world's - and not the twin given their choices? There can absolutely be moments where the Traveler's beliefs are tested. But I ultimately think it's the ties they made during their journey that will make them arrive to a different end than their sibling. What happens after that at the end of the road? Who's to say.
I like this theory. So far there's been no record of our twin getting involved in these nations only 500 years ago yet they want us to learn the true nature of this world. I guess it would be easy to sympathize with Khaenri'ah and think the nation did nothing wrong, and archons and HP are just tyrants if you overlook the fact Khaenri'ah and their pursuits and beliefs as a people endangered all of Teyvat.
Good observation. That might indicate that: 1) Lumine in this animated short is the abyss sibling 2) This either takes place before the cataclysm when the siblings supposedly arrived in Teyvat or right after when the Traveller is put to sleep for 500 years
Part of the problem is that the sibling didn't get to experience the Archons' true selves. Most were either absent from dealing with the fallout of the cataclysm or sealed like Nahida. That's the dramatic irony of us seeing the Khanrean plead to Nahida for a blessing, who couldn't respond if she wanted to at that time. We, on the other hand, got to meet every archon in their natural setting and helped resolve their problems. The sibling sees the archons from the perspective of the Khanrians, unfeeling dieties. We see them from a nore informed perspective, as flawed, but well-meaning people who would give everything for their people.

It's possible that our sibling didn't have any motivation to seek the seven, so that could be another main contributor to the divergence in our approach to the journey.
If Lumine (I chose her as the Traveler) hadn't made so many friends along the way so far, I could see her joining her sibling into the Abyss Order. However, given the many relationships that she has made on her journey in contrary to the other sibling, I can see her more than likely opposing her sibling and it leading to a massive fight within Celestia itself for control of Teyvat.

I won't be surprised if the next meeting with the sibling results in a duel. Getting dropped by the reason for our journey is a good reason for us to take a different path. I would love to see a display of overwhelming elemental power from the sibling.
For how tame Fontaine has been as a whole, I don't see another loss as a bad thing going into Natlan. It could be done as the sibling telling us again to not team up with their "enemy"
One thing that always makes me think is that our sibiling visited a fundamentally different Teyvat, still devastated by war. In addition to experiencing the Ka'henriah incident then he saw Monstadt oppressed by the nobles, Inazuma in the midst of civil war, Sumeru mistreating Nahida and in any case the hatred between the forest and desert peoples, the Yudex and Furina do not remember our sibiling so for some reason she did not make herself known to any Archon (I think having seen what had happened to Ka'henriah in person is part of the reason he did not try to approach any Archon) It is not simply a path not taken it is a totally different path.

The better Question is if the MC gonna be able to Correct their Sibling’s path? What if the MC meets the True Ruler of the Abyss, as in the one who laid down all those Curses upon all of the Peoples that tried seize the Authority of the Abyss for their various purposes? Amd more importantly; will the Sibling come Face to Face with the True Ruler(s) of The Abyss? Whom might reveal this Secret to the Twins either separately or simultaneously?
I think the difference here is one landed in Khaenri’ah and the other started in Monstadt. The Traveler has love for the people of Teyvat and the Abyssal twin has love for the people of Khaenr’ah. I think that it will make a big difference when deciding our future. When it says in the poem. “I shall be telling this with a sigh, somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. It’s all speculation until we get more information but I do feel the traveler will take a different path than the Abyssal sibling”. Great video as always! 👍

I knew from the fights start he wasn’t winning as he seemed to want to avoid a fight in the archon quests. But how easily he was curb stomped? Yeah no. No way she should’ve been that powerful.
Since Calibert I wonder if the sibling gets the same flashes of the traveler, except glimses into the future instead of into the past like the traveler has.
an interesting thought just popped into my head: who else has tread on these so called roads. one possibilitie comes to mind, the people. we have seen time and again the will to escape fate and the multitude attempts to overthrow destiny. as for the other path, the vast majority of people seem indifferent or ignorant to the fact their fates are sealed. these two paths seem like the only two choices; accept fate or reject it. given the fact i doubt the traveler would choose to succumb to the will of the world given what they've experienced i doubt these are the correct paths or they aren't the only ones.
The moment I saw the title of the animated short genshin just released I immediately thought of this poem! And saw this video being uploaded two days before! I looked into this poem again and I’m not sure if it’s me being delusional but the poem could be shown in the perspective of one of the siblings, and their journey. I believe that each sibling took different paths. Each path leading to their own journey. One path took one to the abyss, the other taking one to heavenly principles/Archons side? And at the end their paths will cross, just not together but against each other? What do you think? I feel like I’m being delusional
after watching the animated the short. it seems like how hoyo envisoned the poem matches up with ur way of thinking, then only difference id argue is the end result doesnt matter. the point of the music video was to showcase how each journey was going on the sibilings respective ends, and notice the journeys were really similar in location, but dissimilar in expierence. differences aside, their respective journeys will see them cross paths once again

I'm 38 (will be 39 the week we finally get into Natlan as Genshin USUALLY updates to the new region/nation in the same week that my birthday occurs)- not sure if my comments have seemed to reflect my age, though. I was homeschooled. My mom hated Robert Frost, so she didn't make me read it (thank god, I am a fine artist, but hate poetry save a very few exceptions). I did read it once thanks to own curiosity. My mom used an umbrella satalite school when I was being home schooled. When it came time for them to suggest this for me to read, they gave my mom other options, and she pucked one she knew I'd be better at working with (poetry bored the he!l out of me and I was/am dyslexic. I can't (literally CANNOT) focus on and read something if its boring to me. I was at a 12th grade reading level by 14.... but only IF it interested me, lol). Thank you for reading the poem out. Well, it certainly does not contradict established facts. Including the siblings losing a world that should have belonged to them. If so, it's been a long journey, and Teyvat has changed a lot since their last visit.

There is a difference though, Aether (I picked Aether), felt that what she was doing in the Chasm was wrong. Also while Lusamine sees khaenri'ah as the homeland, Aether (the traveler) does not. Lusamine is doing what a lot of Genshin's enemies have been doing like Phobos. Trying to hold onto or recreate the past at the expense of the current.
Paimon is basically Kallen humor and stomach and Theresa's personality mix in. Plus I think it would be funny if she became playable with two chainsaw or fishing rod as weapon would be even funnier if was the most overpowered character in the game plus I want weapon types and styles in the game and elements

Tbh, at this point of the story, I don't see the traveler joining the abyss order at all lol Even if they are pissed at the primordial one, the traveler is aware of how bad abyssal energy/powers are to Teyvat, and they have been shown (more than once) that the abyss order are kinda misleaded sometimes XD, so I just see them joining the order as a mean to reach their sibling (or even save them). The traveler isn't as invested in saving teyvat and stuff as people seem to believe, but they have no reason to side with them, specifically xd Like, I'd prefer Neuvillette's side if I were them, but that's just me

On the one hand, I'd rather see the traveler team up with the Fatui and the dragons against celestia. On the other hand, if the abyssal power is ever fleshed out similarly to the elements, them joining the sibling is also plausible--to add a new variant of the traveler. Could also be both--since both have the goal of rising up against the celestia's usurpation.
I don't know if there is a rating somewhere, but Dawit is #1 for me. Even if he expects much more from the Primordial One than I do, he never goes as crazy as other lore videos on RUclips that go crazy with real-world references.
Couple of options here. First option: The siblings were summoned not by Celestia but by the Fatui. This theory is drawing more and more attention. Project Stuzha is to use the travellers power to burn down Irminsul. The person that did this should be Pierro since he originally came from Khaenri'ah he is also the person that knows Arlecchinos true origin. The chess game that Pierro plays therefore becomes about making the right sacrifices rather than winning the game to draw the traveller closer to Tsaritsa this is her final plan with project stuzha. The Gnosis hunt than becomes a folly in it's own, at the end I think we are going to stand in front of a choice to become a Fatui ourselves that is a mad person that is trying to defy fate. I actually believe the Fatui were explorers themselves and discovered a portion of the truth. As such the twist in this game is that the "villains" are those that try to save humanity but I do think the traveller can see through this I just don't know how much she actually cares lol. It is true that she has some connections with some of the people but I don't think it compares to what she lost. The archons seem to regard the traveller as someone that is outside of the fate of Theyvat specially Zhongli. It is possible that they already know what is going to happen and in the very beginning of the game trying to take precautions for that. Venti steals the lyre to play for Dvalin, Zhongli arranges a contract to keep Liyue out of a coming conflict Ei tries to make Inazuma into a domain outside of time. Focalors killed herself to free the last living sovereign Nahida revived what I suspect is the memory of the Dendro dragon. All of those actions have motives that are not explained in game as far as I know.
I'm personally not gonna watch this short. Considering the previous one spoiled arlachino's quest This one is 100% gonna spoil the dain quest I would recommend you guys to stay away until you've done the quest aswell
I think there is meaning in the twins taking different paths. This way, they'll see both sides of the same coin. And they'll have friends on both sides too. And if their bond overcomes the difference in experiences, they would have the knowledge, connections and wisdom to resolve the world's conflict. With the Traveler and the Prince(ess) of the Abyss shaking hands, even the ages-old conflict between the Abyss and the Light Realm might come to an end.
Personally me. If I were to get the choice to either join hands with Dainsleif in defeating my Twin, or helping her. I'm fighting her with Dainsleif. I can't think of an excuse good enough for her to convince me otherwise.

For how tame Fontaine has been as a whole, I don't see another loss as a bad thing going into Natlan. It could be done as the sibling telling us again to not team up with their "enemy"
One thing that always makes me think is that our sibiling visited a fundamentally different Teyvat, still devastated by war.

I think the difference here is one landed in Khaenri’ah and the other started in Monstadt. The Traveler has love for the people of Teyvat and the Abyssal twin has love for the people of Khaenr’ah. I think that it will make a big difference when deciding our future. When it says in the poem. “I shall be telling this with a sigh, somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. It’s all speculation until we get more information but I do feel the traveler will take a different path than the Abyssal sibling”.

we have seen time and again the will to escape fate and the multitude attempts to overthrow destiny. as for the other path, the vast majority of people seem indifferent or ignorant to the fact their fates are sealed. these two paths seem like the only two choices; accept fate or reject it.
given the fact i doubt the traveler would choose to succumb to the will of the world given what they've experienced i doubt these are the correct paths or they aren't the only ones.

I looked into this poem again and I’m not sure if it’s me being delusional but the poem could be shown in the perspective of one of the siblings, and their journey. I believe that each sibling took different paths. Each path leading to their own journey. One path took one to the abyss, the other taking one to heavenly principles/Archons side? And at the end their paths will cross, just not together but against each other?

I'm 38 (will be 39 the week we finally get into Natlan as Genshin USUALLY updates to the new region/nation in the same week that my birthday occurs)- not sure if my comments have seemed to reflect my age, though.
I was homeschooled.
My mom hated Robert Frost, so she didn't make me read it (thank god, I am a fine artist, but hate poetry save a very few exceptions).
I did read it once thanks to own curiosity.
My mom used an umbrella satalite school when I was being home schooled.
When it came time for them to suggest this for me to read, they gave my mom other options, and she pucked one she knew I'd be better at working with (poetry bored the he!l out of me and I was/am dyslexic. I can't (literally CANNOT) focus on and read something if its boring to me. I was at a 12th grade reading level by 14.... but only IF it interested me, lol).

If so, it's been a long journey, and Teyvat has changed a lot since their last visit.
The traveler has sympathy for the old world but I don’t think they’d wanna mess up Teyvat and join the Abyss. There is a case to be made that the PRIMORDIAL ONE, Phanes, traveled the world in world like traveler did, but when it was all dragons. It is questionable assumption given what was leaked, but it is something that I just thought.

There is a difference though, Aether (I picked Aether), felt that what she was doing in the Chasm was wrong. Also while Lusamine sees khaenri'ah as the homeland, Aether (the traveler) does not. Lusamine is doing what a lot of Genshin's enemies have been doing like Phobos. Trying to hold onto or recreate the past at the expense of the current.

Tbh, at this point of the story, I don't see the traveler joining the abyss order at all lol Even if they are pissed at the primordial one, the traveler is aware of how bad abyssal energy/powers are to Teyvat, and they have been shown (more than once) that the abyss order are kinda misleaded sometimes XD, so I just see them joining the order as a mean to reach their sibling (or even save them). The traveler isn't as invested in saving teyvat and stuff as people seem to believe, but they have no reason to side with them, specifically xd Like, I'd prefer Neuvillette's side if I were them, but that's just me
Finally, the traveler's story, I hope they don't take away the spotlight from another character.

I don't know if there is a rating somewhere, but Dawit is #1 for me.
Even if he expects much more from the Primordial One than I do, he never goes as crazy as other lore videos on RUclips that go crazy with real-world references.
Couple of options here. First option: The siblings were summoned not by Celestia but by the Fatui. This theory is drawing more and more attention. Project Stuzha is to use the travellers power to burn down Irminsul. The person that did this should be Pierro since he originally came from Khaenri'ah he is also the person that knows Arlecchinos true origin. The chess game that Pierro plays therefore becomes about making the right sacrifices rather than winning the game to draw the traveller closer to Tsaritsa this is her final plan with project stuzha.
The Gnosis hunt than becomes a folly in it's own, at the end I think we are going to stand in front of a choice to become a Fatui ourselves that is a mad person that is trying to defy fate. I actually believe the Fatui were explorers themselves and discovered a portion of the truth. As such the twist in this game is that the "villains" are those that try to save humanity but I do think the traveller can see through this I just don't know how much she actually cares lol. It is true that she has some connections with some of the people but I don't think it compares to what she lost.
The archons seem to regard the traveller as someone that is outside of the fate of Theyvat specially Zhongli. It is possible that they already know what is going to happen and in the very beginning of the game trying to take precautions for that. Venti steals the lyre to play for Dvalin, Zhongli arranges a contract to keep Liyue out of a coming conflict Ei tries to make Inazuma into a domain outside of time. Focalors killed herself to free the last living sovereign Nahida revived what I suspect is the memory of the Dendro dragon. All of those actions have motives that are not explained in game as far as I know.
the fatui were created after the cataclsym, and the sibilings came to teyvat before the cataclsym

I think there is meaning in the twins taking different paths. This way, they'll see both sides of the same coin. And they'll have friends on both sides too.
And if their bond overcomes the difference in experiences, they would have the knowledge, connections and wisdom to resolve the world's conflict. With the Traveler and the Prince(ess) of the Abyss shaking hands, even the ages-old conflict between the Abyss and the Light Realm might come to an end.
