    So Hollywood truly is what I thought it was: A place where dreams and creativity go to die

    Is it all that secret though? Remember when 50 Cent kinda sorta endorsed Trump and Chelsea Handler bragged to the world about "I had to remind him he was black"?

      Considering how hollywood and the entertainment industry are systemically tied to American culture it sort of lends credence to the idea that America is a systemically racist country despite arguments to the contrary.

    • @Vic2point0
      @Vic2point0 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@indepthmike5578 Depends on what you mean by "systematically". But the government is oppressive to all. Power corrupts. And when you feel untouchable (as both our government and celebrities alike get to feeling), you don't have much incentive to rid yourself of racism or even hide it, so it grows. That's my theory anyway.

    I'll say this about wanting actual amputees/disabled people in those roles: there are talented disabled actors who can barely get jobs, but then when an able-bodied actor portrays a disabled person it's lauded in all the award shows. Plus there's a lot of stuff people who aren't disabled assume about our lives that isn't true, so it helps to have someone who can point out "that's not how you push a wheelchair, brail signs are actually placed like this," etc.

      Remember when their used to be a position in movie credits for *Insert Career* Expert where if it something like a military mobie they would hire vets to oversee the legitimacy. My favorite example was Full Metal Jacket where the sarge was supposed to onlu oversee but he was so good they gave him the roll.

    if you are trying to cast someone you have an expectation, a caricature, so of course from the mind of Hollywood which is a hive mind, a collective consciousness, they can uphold stereotypes and incentivize them in reality by presenting them to people who have little motivation to create themselves without a template. you know, like a role model? a father?

    The majority of shows on cable are mostly for a black adult audience, but it is all stereotypes of blacks in gangs , criminal empires, strippers, and / or woke characters that must be unwatchable even for their target audience. I just don't understand why the black community doesn't produce shows with a moral lesson.

    i don't think an exudes will ever work. Isolating a group only strengthens the the cult. It is important to expose people to different view points that is better done if you maintain your relationships with them. Even if you don't talk about politics if they even just know who you are and get to see that you are a good person it helps shine a light on the discrepancy of what they are being taught.

    😵 I saw the first three episodes of '4400' before giving up and they were all awful!
    🎬 Nashville, Tennessee or Orlando, Florida could be the capital of a parallel conservative American filmmaking industry if they play their cards right.
    🙏 But that means The Daily Wire needs to more widely distribute their content and not just limit their shows and, especially, their films to only subscribers.

    Secretly? I saw Robert Towmsend's "Hollywood Shuffle" back in the 80s. Since then I've viewed movies and TV shows through the lens of what that movie was pinpointing about how Hollywood and most of these liberals view blacks and other minorities. It's not what people say, it's what they do.

    If you want to see an entertaining movie about the unintentional racism of a lot of liberal folks in the entertainment industry, watch American Fiction. It reminded me a lot, of what one of my friends complained about, with people assuming all black people come from the same background.

No one asked but there you go... anyway, two things that really boggles my mind, number 1, when hear some black person say "There's no such thing as racism" and 2, is when I hear that some black person JUST NOW realizing that there is actual racism in the world, no shit Inspector Gadget! 👀😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

      As a black person also, he is stating that he didn't think the so called "left liberals" were racist. If you been in this world a lot, you know. They are more racist than the so called "MAGA" crowd. White leftists want to keep your "black ass" in your place, in the hood begging them to help you..... I'm sure you know that.
