Comparing the mixes of the "Yessongs" material with the new mixes on "Progeny", I find that the originals sound much harsher. The band was certainly on fire at that time! Thanks for the video. The original artwork and poster are iconic for Yesfans.
I think this was the best version of this song ever captured - even the studio version of Howe's playing cannot surpass this. Even if some of the opening solo is improvised; his phrasings and melodies in this version should be THE reference version!!
Most outstanding performance of 'Close To the Edge' ever captured, in my opinion. Steve Howe and Alan White drive this like some sort of agile behemoth - which is sort of an oxymoron I know. This version surpasses the studio one in some ways.

It's fine - this is better than the murky-sounding version released on the vinyl 'Yessongs' all those years ago. Deeper bass and clearer midrange.
