That’s a great point! Someone else mentioned that too! I totally should’ve showed that in the video. I’m gonna make a follow up video or RUclips Short, but if you’re looking for a quick answer, Supernote does this a lot better. I did also make a video about the Supernote’s handling of PDF’s but it’s also a little bit dated now, so might be time for an updated one
While I like the back light on RPP, the Supernote writing feel and more importantly the software features like linking are the deal breakers giving it the win
Yeah I agree. The software is the best part about it. And I do agree that the writing feel is better on the Manta, thanks for sharing! Supernote wins for me too!
Hmm, it might be different levels, let me get back to you on that. I’ve never tried using them as different levels, but you could totally be right! Thanks for sharing that!
True, but they are still actively selling it, and I’m mentioning the differences with the Paper Pro that was released this year. I would’ve preferred to use the Paper Pro as the main device in the video, but this is what I had to work with.
It is unique because who else has done this it’s niche, also which works to those that aren’t sure if they go with a newer model or an older model as well but piggybacking I guess on what the other guy said too? 🤷♂️😅
@@wizenedmoney62 That is definitely part of it too! I really hope it will be helpfully to many wondering which platform to go with. Thanks for sharing!
Great review! Sorry to hear about the fate of your Paper Pro though. While I am very interested in the writing and note taking experience and productivity, I'm more interested in how they compare for reading PDFs and ebooks. Due to eye strain from so much computer work I stopped reading on my old old ipad and looking for a device for books, news, and pdfs. Clarity, reduce eye strain, and contrast etc. I'd also like to make notes on documents and screen captures that I can send to the device. Is there a clear winner for this? Thank again!
I do think Supernote is the clear winner for that, but that is totally something I should’ve covered in this video! I’ll make some kind of follow up video or Short showing the differences. Great point! Thanks for bringing that up!
Thanks for the video In Manta, the straight line does not work for me. Should I activate some option in the setting or it just works after some updates? My system version is 3.20.29 and checking update says that my system is already updated!!
The straight line feature is only in Beta right now. That’s why I didn’t mention it too much in this video because it’s not out for the majority of people yet.
Paper Pro DOES have a front light, but it’s ass. It needs to be maxed out to notice-even in dim environments. Great side-by-side. I will say, it’s a bit unfair to reMarkable 2 since it’s ancient. The Manat is spanking new-it has no business losing in any of the categories people care about.
Yeah I do wish it had a better front light, but I think it does the primary job of making it visible to write or read even when there is no light. I would love to compare it to a reMarkabke 3 or something, but they haven’t released that yet! And they are still selling it so it’s still a “current” product even if it’s getting a little dated, but I know what you mean.
Great, in-depth comparison! I would have liked to have seen documents displayed and how each device allows note-taking within a document.

summary: supernote has remarkable beat on every measure except if you want a pencil writing experience above all else
Yeah basically!

You are comparing a device that was released in 2020 to a recently launched one.

I think it is still a good comparison for people considering to upgrade to the Supernote

Don't forget to push interaction links to the videos you mentioned.
I do have them liked in the description, but you’re not wrong, I should probably have them link directly in the video, thanks for mentioning that!
