Underrated and undervalued because he doesn't look glamorous and makes saves look relatively easy compared to goalkeepers who throw themselves around more. There are keepers who have cost two, three, four and five times more who are no better. Judge him by how few goals he concedes which is consistently few whether at Burney, Newcastle or elsewhere. Newcastle's best goalkeeper in my lifetime, ahead of Given and Krul.
i think that pope is better, he isnt a gk that make "brilliant saves" refering to that saves that look dramatic or that type, he is a brilliant keeper bc he is very efective under the goal
