  • A tour guide demonstrates a giant concave mirror that creates a perfect image.
Find the follow-up video of science educator Ron Hipschman, demonstrating the mirror trick he mentions in this video here: • Man "Walks Through" Mi...

I thought it was clever how the sound will bounce to the mirrored person but nobody seemed to care. Then he reflects a light on the mirror and everyone freaks out

Here's another stunning fact: mirrors not only reflect visible light, but also anything in the EM spectrum.
If you put a hot object in front of the mirror (no closer than F so it produces a real image), *you'll feel warmth where the image should be,* because the mirror also reflects the infrared emitted by the hot object, and gets focused at the point where the image is.

So theoretically we could use a very large mirror and beam energy at spaceships very far away? Could this be used as propulsion? It'd save a lot of power, if we could put the warp drive on the moon or similar stationary to serve as launch stations as we explore space.

I don't think so. Radiation gets dissipated very easily with distance. Although I think radiation does create pressure so it could be a possibility.

Brian, why wouldn't you do it directly without using a mirror ? :O

GunsAndJR Thats because a concave mirror can focus photons easily as opposed to just shooting out the light like a torch.

No, it's the concave mirror. Convex mirror can't do this because of the diverging property.

Its fake, there is just two groups of people who look similar. Can you see it in 1:36 where the people are different in the 'mirror'
