I am also new to the hobby and I've been collecting the Star Wars cards for about 2 months now through eBay. I spent over a couple hundred bucks for sure and what I realized later on is that these Galaxy cards actually came out back in the day. A lot of the art is recycled and what I like to do is go get the old card for like a dollar or two and then get the new cool numbered refractor and have them side by side. If you're just now getting into it you should definitely look into the past. One of my favorite cards is the Jack Kirby Darth Vader card. I have one from 1994 and the new one I believe is from 2023 called " larger than life". Super fun.

Definitely a great collection I prefer the 2024 Sapphire Star Wars my fav but these cards are very cool!
