@@Waitwhaaaaaaaht just a normal button helps keep the depth marked once you set your tip up for the day! So after you catch a fish just reel your tip up line until the button. Fast and easy way to reset after catching a fish.

They make thermal foam covers that cover most of it and the hole making it take longer to ice over.

Run it through one of the 4 holes in the button and out the diagonal hole. It will slide up and down just fine?

Il try a slip bobber keeper with the ends still on instead of a button see if that works out
