This only applies to BB banks. I've seen people with little to no finance background land roles at boutiques and MM banks, which they can lateral to a BB if they want later on.
I suppose this is the case in America. Where I’m from internships are during the semester; 5-6 hour work days and studying at the same time. You must study in the same city as the office location. Internship programs in BB last about 2 years and they just renew the contract to a full time offer once you graduate. On the other hand elite boutique banks like rothschlid look for interns to work during their last semester.

I didn’t have the luxury to get a summer analyst position without losing my current job. Do I have a chance? Investment banking is my passion and I truly love finance. Would they allow me to enter a summer analyst internship after I graduate?
@@HtheKing No updates yet. I checked on the application status of a few internships but I am still in the application received stage. They haven't reviewed it yet.
