- We are the mermaids and the mermen of the world!! Thanks to the Mermaid Alliance and ADEX Singapore 2019, mermaids and mermen from all over the globe were brought together to not only swim together, but to also promote the possibility of a Plastic Free Future. You will see more of both ADEX 2019 and Singapore in later videos... but for now? Take a look at the EPIC pool parties that we had at the Peninsula Excelsior Hotel's pool!! WHOA!!!
That pool was AMAZING!!! And very refreshing too, since Singapore is hot. VERY hot.
However, the thing more amazing than that pool was definitely the awesome merfolk that filled it. OH MY GOODNESS. There were SO many mermaids and mermen that showed up to swim together between attending ADEX. There were mermaids from Singapore, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, the United States of America, Egypt, South Africa and Russia. Even though we have different backgrounds, speak different languages and live in different environments, we are all part of one big pod. Mermaid Alliance helped us gather together, and our passions for mermaiding, art and conservation united us.
I cannot thank Mermaid Alliance enough for bringing everyone together. It really did serve as a great reminder that mermaids and mermen around the world are truly on big family... despite any of our differences. This includes you, by the way. You're a part of this global pod too. ♥
So much love to all of the beautiful, majestic, otherworldly and unique individuals that came to Singapore for ADEX and for our little adventures in the pool. I still don't know all of your names... but I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!! Please stay in touch. We need to get together again sometime soon!

*We are the merfolk of the world!!* No matter where you come from, what you look like or who you are, you are part of a worldwide pod of kind, loving and passionate merfolk. I was reminded of this when Mermaid Alliance brought a group of mermaids and mermen from around the globe to gather together in Singapore... I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to have been a part of this diverse group. ♥
Although we came to Singapore to take part in ADEX 2019 to promote a Plastic Free Future, we ended up celebrating much more than the possibility of clean oceans, lakes and waterways... we ended up celebrating the deep bond that we share as mermaids and mermen. Our love for the natural world, our love for myths and magic, our desire to express ourselves and to create our art... we may not have always understood each other very well due to language differences, but we connected through spirit and through passion.

I just watched the “for free video” lmfao XD AND DIED LMFAO YOU WERE LIKE “get a job start making money” which I thought was gonna happen but I clicked anyways lmfaooooo
But tbh the truth behind people wanting it for free is both having not much knowledge and not being able to afford it, even working, with holiday hours the max id ever earned at work was $700 for 2 weeks of work, end that’s 40+ hour weeks one day off during each, so it ain’t easy, but either way, I do plan on making my own tail c: once I get paid already planning fabric ^-^

Are those with sequin tails going to change to something different? I really fear for how dropped sequins/bead-scales have an effect on the oceans!
I am not sure. However, I will say that even with the sequins that may fall into the ocean/ water because of their tails (most were grabbing the sequins that fell off for re-use anyways) these merfolk do much more good for the ocean and its inhabitants than any harm a sequin could ever do. *It is kind of the same concepts as leveling out a chunk of wildlife in order to install a plot of wind turbines. It can cause damage, yes... but it ultimately does good.* ♥
This is a great point though, and I'm glad you brought it up. I'm sure many of these merfolk would opt for silicone tails if able to... but they can be out of budget for some, or simply impractical for those who spend a lot of time travelling to spread their magic. They require helpers often too, so silicone tails aren't always ideal for everyone.

oh one day I'll get a tail, :) I just released today a mermaid song on spotify (soon a video on my channel) but I had no tail and had to improvise around a little :) still I confess when I try to dive all the ocean get to my nostrils, and I grew up being the daughter of a fishermen on a small island but still :) Looking lovelly. I am sorry to hear that. If you already know how to swim normally, there are some videos online to help you learn to swim like a mermaid. Perhaps those could be helpful (to be done in a safe environment with supervision, of course)?
