To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough. I've been quite unsure about investing in this current market and at the same time I feel it's the best time to get started on the market, what are your thoughts?
Since the crash, I've been in the red. I’m playing the long term game, so I'm not too worried but Jim Cramer mentioned there are still a lot of great opportunities, though stocks has been down a lot. I also heard news of a guy that made $250k from about $110k since the crash and I would really look to know how to go about this.
There are actually a lot of ways to make high yields in a crisis, but such trades are best done under the supervision of Financial advisor.
Thats true, I've been getting assisted by a FA for almost a year now, I started out with less than $200K and I'm just $19,000 short of half a million in profit.

Maybe this only works on the PC version because the mobile app will cost a debit of 3 dollars but the max loss is much higher. I tried this on three different stocks and all were averaging a max loss of 54 dollars with a collateral holding of 51 dollars. Not sure why

Omg why didn't I know this earlier? I only know spreads, condors, butterfly, and broken wing butterfly. Have been doing pretty good on spreads but the return on this strategy also seems insane! Options trading is so versatile and fun!
One of the best content I’ve seen. Crypto is the best though I don’t self trade but I still make my profit with the help of my broker till I'm sure I can start of self trading.
Obviously trading in crypto is very volatile and risky to trade that's the reason most investors trade with a professional broker.

I' m aware of Mrs Bruce Christelle, I've read reviews on various investment forums. I bet your portfolio must be solid.
It is frustrating that ALL these traders on YT claim that "here is your max risk and you can only lose $2.00" when that is FAR from the actual truth.
They don't address that you also put down collateral for these trades and your broker can close a position right before expiration if one of your legs gets ITM and there is risk of exercise if your cash balance can't support exercise.
This happened to me last week on AMZN on an Iron Condor where my "max risk" was supposedly only about 200$ according to Guillermo in an Iron Condor video. 2 minutes before expiration when I was about to close the Condor, Ameritrade closed it and took the $1,000 collateral I had to put down for the trade. NEVER saw that money again and it wiped out 30% of my account value...when there was "supposedly only $200 risk".
Guys, tell not just the truth, but the WHOLE truth so beginner traders who trust your videos don't get DESTROYED when they aren't made aware of the WHOLE risk profile.
Should add: "if the stock is above your highest strike or below your lowest strike at or near expiration, it will be ITM and at risk of exercise and your broker WILL close the trade and take your collateral you placed down for the trade".
That's like common sense though for Option trading lol

Then flipped that to a bb option that went all the way to 3.89 cents premium but I didn't sell because I am new and wanted more

Another fun fact about this is you can double it. Create a second butterfly the same way but backwards with higher strike prices and you've extended your profit window dramatically

This may work on a few stocks, but not many just tried 3 different stocks and none of them came anywhere close. The stocks I tried were C, KO, PLUG. Would need a bigger sample size, but I don't see this working very well
Wouldn’t this only work if there’s enough liquidity in the options you’re trading? Some options the spreads are so wide you’re not going to be to close out your position at the price you might have hoped for..
Yes this strategy is very chart specific, but even if you see a small increase or decrease. I imagine just apply this same strategy but treat the price you think will be the “median” as the center price he used im the video

Yup, the example he says to to try has a $2 risk versus $90+ reward. Enter the same stock today with the same strategy and it’s not even close. Seems like he found a single instance were there was a massive risk/reward ratio and made a video about it although it doesn’t apply any more. 🤷🏼♂️
But you can play with any stock until you get a similar ratio provided due diligence is done....

You say that the risk is only $3, but to sell a call option you have to own 100 shares of the underlying asset and put that up for collateral. You could potentially lose those 100 shares of XPEV or am I wrong?

bro he’s giving a tutorial it doesn’t matter what the ticker symbol, strike price, or expiration date it’s a generic tutorial of a options strategy that you can use on everything. How was this hard for you to understand?? I know it’s been almost a year but if you can’t figure it out Lmk and I’ll help you.
If youre able to sell and buy these options quickly, just do an array of them where when ones target price leaves off the other begins. Havent tested it but I will

The setup looks nice but after attempting this trade I wasn’t able to get a fill even after adjusting to pay more of a debit.
Yeah. People have to lose money for others to make money with stocks. Someone would get screwed with this strategy so theyre not likely to enter this

I found out the reason you can't add more than one option is because you have to apply to upgrade to level 3 option trading in order to do spreads. Go into your settings and look for it I got upgraded and I can do spreads now.

This isn't going to work. Stock that stay put or move on a narrow zone doesn't have good premiums. If you try this on volatile stocks, you would end up on the losing side. This looks like a $2 entry, but on those dormant stocks, the entry would be close to $70 with low Pop..

"Are you expecting to receive a credit or pay a debit for this option?" which should I do? Robinhood asks this before can finalize this trade strategy and was not addressed in video....please advise

Robinhood will tell you if it is credit or debit on the page prior. It's checking to see if you're paying attention to what your ordering.
If you're paying more than you're collecting, it's a debit. If you're collecting more than you're paying, it's a credit. The same is true when you're closing a contract.

1. This is a 132 ratio butterfly, or a broken wing butterfly with a bear spread on the heavy side.
2. The options pricing is incorrectly shown, it is a minimum of $5 "wrong" for that area. Most of these ratio types should cost between $15 to $60, and have a very narrow window of success. You can test this by doing a normal butterfly (buy 36.5x1, sell 37x2, buy 37.5x1)...you will find that it is showing a negative debit, which is an arbitrage event and should never happen. You are happy to set the trade, and if you get it, congratulations, but normally when the market opens, these prices will change immediately and you usually won't be filled.
This happens all the time, you think you're getting a good deal, then when it moves it tricks you into changing your order, until next thing you know you've spent way too much. Don't fall for these things.....if it seems too good to be true, it usually means you overlooked something.

Its an interesting coincidence that divided paying stocks have minor price movements and are likely good candidates for this christmas tree butterfly! So the dividend mention was so relevant! That said, do you have a technique or tool to find these slow movers?

Can you talk about how you would close this trade early. Do you start with lowest strike, etc? Did you have any thing weird happen with a trade on exp. Friday, after the market closed?

This is a great video and I can see a big opportunity to use this method but I can't find a stock that prices out like your example. I'm looking through sideways trading stocks but the cheapest I have found is a $25 max loss. Any suggestions on how to find less volatile stocks? TY

It's an arbitrage....RH won't allow arbitrage events from single accounts, you would either have to risk placing multiple trade across multiple accounts and hope it all fills, or realize that HFTs are faster than you will ever be and you will never profit on arbitrage. It is something retail investors have to come to terms with....if it sounds too good, it usually is for us.

Doesn't work for me. After I did the first step (sell a call option), I try to do step 2 but Robinhood says "you can only select up to 1 option. If you want to build a strategy thats more than 1 option, you'll need to place separate orders." ..... So now what?
u need to go to your settings and change your options settings to level 3, where you can do butterfly spreads.

Warning these trades are very very dangerous and can put you into major debt!! You’re not risking just a few dollars you’re risking all hundreds of thousands in debt in the case of assignment or worse

Umm no. One leg is covering the other leg. The trades will execute in margin (temp borrowed money) thus why it tells you a max loss from anywhere from $3 to thousands, this IF you let it expire and don't take your gains. That is why the profit is so small comparatively.
@@rsxen8990 you’re very VERY wrong and shouldn’t be giving advice without experience. Robinhood has a glitch where they do not tell you that if the trade does not go your way you’re going to end up owing 100x more than your max loss and that’s litterally your ONLY outcome seeing as you will NEVER be able to close one of these trades in the green. Stay far away from these trades

@@rsxen8990 do you honestly not realize One leg covers the other leg because you’re selling option contracts for stocks you do not own? If you end up getting assigned or your option call goes backwards Robinhood assumes you have the shares to cover it. I’ve used this strategy and almost had it happened to me because I could not close the trade in the green for over a week and had to watch it go all the way down into the negatives, trying to figure out how to close the trade I realized this major flaw in Robinhood system , they should tell you that if you select credit you could potentially owe hundreds of thousands of dollars
