    As a 40 plus year prepper I will wait for a few to go by before I make a comment about them Reliable. As I have said before, you seem to know the right things to put in your videos. Looking forward to this series!

    We appreciate This kind of video series. There are times when our young troops fail to understand the big picture of prepping. They need an occasional reminder when enjoying BBQ around the firepit, that our family practice sessions are also a means preparing with a purpose. Overall, they have done well when disasters strike. An outside opinion of the importance of practice and preparation helps us to maintain the family momentum towards our preparation goals. Beautiful Bride and I have a good plan in place. We have a wide range of emergency gear, especially medical supplies. I believe it would be a terrible thing for my wife's nursing degree to be wasted due to not having needed items to treat. Many storable foods available in the USA are not available in SE Asia where I took a super early retirement. It has taken extra time and effort to build out our emergency storage. The results have absolutely been worth it. We have gone through multiple typhoons and flood situations unscathed due to the supplies and gear we store and practice with. Keep up the great work you do, you are helping many who are new to the prepping movement.

      Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! It’s awesome to hear how well you and your family have embraced prepping and made it part of your lifestyle, especially through practice sessions around the firepit. It really does help keep everyone focused on the bigger picture. Your approach to prepping, especially with medical supplies, is so smart-your wife’s nursing skills are a huge asset, and it’s great you’re ensuring she has what she needs to help if things go sideways. It sounds like all your hard work has really paid off, especially given the challenges of living in SE Asia and dealing with typhoons and floods. I really appreciate your support and the reminder of why we all do this-prepping with a purpose. Keep up the great work, and I’m glad to be part of the journey with you! Stay safe!

    Sometimes we need to go back to basics. I think one a lot of people have problems with is getting family members interested and keeping the scoffers from giving the plans away to others.

    • @reliableprepper
      @reliableprepper  5 месяцев назад +1

      You’re so right! Going back to basics is key, but getting family on board can be tough. It’s hard when some people don’t take it seriously, and then you have to worry about them sharing your plans. It’s all about patience and helping them see the importance of being prepared without pushing too hard. Hopefully, with time, they’ll come around and understand the value of prepping! Stay focused and keep doing what you can!

    For short time of 72 hours, chocolate bars that is very sweet is a very practical option, this is recommended in the bug out bag for Japanese during earthquake and typhoon evacuation.
    For lighting it might be cheap to get Christmas light operated by batteries, those that doesn't flicker and is uniformly white or bright yellow light.
    A Christmas light with batteries can last easily for a week. Pair off that with rechargeable batteries and solar charger, you could afford batteries operated light that could last a week or more before requiring charging.
    It is possible to get plastic jars with a loop handle on the lid, toss one to two Christmas light inside and it become a waterproof lantern.
    Most rechargeable lantern do not last days to week after being turned on.
    For high brightness and compact lights, bicycle head lamps are a good option, most are weather proof and could be strapped to trekking poles to make improvised lamp poles. There are those rated for 1000 lumen and those are enough to light up a bedroom like ceiling light when shine on the ceiling.

      That's some great advice! Chocolate bars are a smart, practical choice for a bug-out bag, especially for short-term situations like earthquakes or typhoons. They’re energy-packed and easy to carry. I love the idea of using battery-operated Christmas lights too-super creative! Pairing them with rechargeable batteries and a solar charger could really stretch their use over time.
      And turning plastic jars into waterproof lanterns by tossing in some Christmas lights? That’s a brilliant hack! Plus, using bicycle headlamps as improvised lighting poles is genius-especially the ones with 1000 lumens. It’s all about making the most of simple tools, and these tips are spot on! Thanks for sharing!

      @@reliableprepper Yes Sir, I am. Waking up early to beat the back to school Mom and children tomorrow, doing some more prepping. We've really tried to kick it into overdrive. Want to have, and we should by the time election day hits, but a solid year and a half prepped up!!! I think there could be some serious issues, I'm mailing in my vote for Trump/Vance, and I'll watch the rest in TV. I'm not getting out there in that madness. Next week I'm gonna get everything I can within reason stocked for thanksgiving, yes, my mind is ALREADY there.🤔🤔✝️🙏💯🇺🇸🇮🇱

      @@scott3221Heck yeah Scott. You’re definitely staying ahead of the game! Getting your prepping done before things get hectic is a great idea, and having a year and a half of supplies ready by election day is impressive. Mailing in your vote and watching the events unfold from the safety of your home sounds like a smart move, especially with the uncertainty out there. And thinking ahead to Thanksgiving? That’s the kind of planning that pays off. Keep up the great work, and stay safe!

    This is also a good video with a good topic and i can honestly say that i don´t have a 72-hour kit that is something i really need to get done as well. But for that i would really need a high quality bag that is durable and hold up on me as well. I have shared you out as usual and a 👍too.
