That's subjective, like with most some will like us some won't but 2k players have 0 idea about her personality but again even if not aja because they had set precedent with a duel cover last year I don't think there would be much backlash had they put her and Jewell . Whether it was plum caitlin angel stewie etc there just were others more deserving this year for this look because none are going to sell a significant amount of copies over what it's already going to sell so it benefits the player more than it does the game
Its always been like that no matter what AA do if these corporations can get your communities money and disrespect your players accomplishments at the same time they doing it period. These institution are going to support girls like her regardless of her stats in comparison to AA stars. That's the previlage of ownership and control. Now if AA don't like it then don't buy the product. As long as people accept this type of treatment of AA female athletes by these corporations it will continue. AA athletes need to seek out other markets in the gaming world that will support them then their communities can back them by buying products their featured on. Kyrie just did the same thing with a new shoe deal with a Chinese company looking to enter the American market. His fans are going to support him by purchasing the shoe where he has his deal. AA can't stand around begging for acceptance based on production in a market that isn't interested in AA as a consumer segment.
I think in this situation 2k & taketwo might just be asking someone within the wnba one of the heads Cathy etc & they just go with it. I highly doubt they watch the league or even a little in tune. I think the issue is that the league wants the face to be white we dominate the male side so in sports where they get some choice they propel the non black American it's just as bad in boxing with the ESPN p4p . I think if most of the backlash tweets were directed at taketwo Ronnie 2k and the 2k handle they would possibly add jewell at the least but at the moment they are so not in tune to the women's basketball world they may not even know its happening
You make great points they dying to make women's basketball face white, on every level the way they hype up these hopefuls and act like women of color just not on the land scape its grossly unjust...then they wonder why we raising hell out here having to operate like W.E.B Dubois said under the veil and with a double consciousness. Its up to us to make sure our culture support these athletes so that they can get the recognition they earned on the court by their performance and deserve.
