Light was acting until he *realized* his dad was dead. I just think how sad it is that he never properly got to say goodbye to him, until he realized it was late.

@@shi-chan5779 I think the proof Light & Kira are 2 different people is when light loses his memories, he thinks similar to Kira, but doesn't believe he would be like him.
In the last episode when Light is dying, he says out loud "where are you Misa?, where's Takada?" like he must know that Misa lost her memories and Takada he straight up killed.

He used them all but at the moment he made a mistake he wanted to win so badly, in the manga he even forced ryuuk to kill everyone with his deat note which he didnt lol.
But the memori thing is he didnt know that the death note was even a thing so easy to use, he would use it again if he got one without the memories.
Also the End was pretty stupid Imo, light wouldnt be so dumb and just take out some pages of the death note to use its so simple its like they forgot that

The autor says he really mind the death of his father; and I personally think this is the last time his actual self, Light, “shows up”. The one who admired the sense of justice of his father and looked up to him; he was crying for real.

I read the manga recently, and I just realized how fast the passing is the anime adaptation, this was several pages with a lot of more information and planning than we see here, I just wonder why the second part of the history didn’t get as much episodes as the first one. Well, this anime have years now, so I recommend anyone reading this to read the manga JJSJSJ

Go Light go! I still enjoy the second part, not seeing Light in control is refreshing. Also it shows how far he has gone when he considers killing his own family.

I mean he was clearly willing to do that if needed in the beginning he even says it "I may end up killing my own family."
This a distortion, maybe the writter realized that the character was too ambiguous and controversial and decided to vilify him. The real Light/Kira would never consider such things as death in his own family. I have my doubt even if he would consider killing innocents... due to his strong sense of justice. That represented a change caused by the notebook on his personality, i think he would still control that in reality.
@@LeonardoRflp The notebook and shinigami in no way shape or form influence the user. Light with no hesitation tried killing L, a detective just doing his job, in an instant, and not soon after did so with Raye Penmber and his fiancée Naomi. Light has been this way since he started, no distortion there.

More than likely. The deal simply cuts your remaining lifespan in half. That being said, the fact that he died so soon means he was only a couple of days out the door anyways.

At least he showed his real emotion when he realized his father is really dead - the dropped pen was a symbolism Light took control over Kira.
@@Schaddar1 nah i don't think so. light was more concerned about killing mello than shedding real tears for his father. the pen drop symbolizes his father's life has expired in my eyes because soichiro was the one holding the pen with his clinched fist. light was holding his father's hand not the pen.

So obtaining the shinigami's eyes halves your lifespan,and he only lived about an hour or so after doing it.Does that mean that he only had a few hours left to live anyway ?

@@simwin4494 Well, that's not the point. It doesn't matter why you die, your lifespan would still reflect that. Like when Misa is about to be stabbed by a stalker the Shinigami sees her lifespan about to end.
When you have a shiniami's eyes, than what you saw anyone's lifespan is fake, cause you can choose shoot him/her or not, that's make no sense.

I loved how we had a clear scene where is clarifed explicity two times that Light cared shit about his father dying and rather was using the "injured son" mask to use his half dead father to his own advantage before he dies, also in the last episode Light calling his father a fool and having to think twice about who te hell his father was, and yet we have fans wit their headcanon saying he actually cared and was crying for real ignoring the source material and the author's intent for their own personal plot where Light was a actually a caring person that should overtake the world. Light also didn't care about his dad giving away half his life doing the Shinigami's eyes deal, neither he cared that If he make his dad to write Mello's name by using Death Note he would never be capable of go to Heaven, trapped in a loom forever. In the manga is even more explicit, Light starts yelling when his dad died and we can clearly see how he is faking that he is crying, also how when nobody was watching his face it had actually no tears and is totally indifferent once everyone gets out of the room, he didn't even look at the body, and in later refferences though chapters he is even more cold talkimg about his dad death. Hell, here is even imolying that he would end killing his father If everything goes well and his dad kills Mello to make the police don't realize that the fake last rule of the 13 days was never real to begin with, and later in the series is said when he tookover the world Light was going to attempt to brainwash his sister and mother to convince them that they should accept Kira's philoshopy and that ther husband (for her mother, and father (for her sister), was a needed sacrifice, imposing that to them without even a trace of guilt.
Edit: The author never stated that Light ever cared about his father, people likes to make things up to support their points taking advantage that most people don't have a deep knowledge of the lore outside the anime. In fact, inaide the official piramid of Kira, Light's parents are categorized as virtuous persons, without crimes commited, that are deserving of living in his own world and yet still below the scaling of the people that Light cares of and even below his own personal agenda as God, which is at the highest. Not saying that he is absolutely indifferent about what happens to his familiy, he also inconsciously experiences pain different due his personality, and is overall giving all types of excuses for his actions to hide responsability or feelings to keep himself at the highest moral compass, but more that people that he loves, there are mere things that are close under his responsability as God that he accomodates in his life and his plan, totally willing to sacrifice them and killing them himself to even minor inconveniences If it fits well with the situation using the higher good as an argument, someone like that cannot see his familiy as other human beings sees his own familiy. Any shade of humanity in Light fade away after he recovered his memories as Kira when he had a long path of corruption, there are no two splitted Lights after that, Kira only maintains Light as a mask to behave with other people while saying at the same time in his head what he thinks.
