Truth be told, I watched a bunch of supports a little while ago (this being one of them) and as I've watched them, I came to realize that out of the Awakening cast in Fates, she's definitely the one who has grown the most as an individual.
On the other hand, it's evident that she's still very bothered by her inferiority complex. It's a shame honestly.

It makes sense, I mean at a guess, Awakening's events from her perspective happened a few months ago. I doubt that's sufficient time to get over everything like that.
It's a defined trait and aspect of her personality for sure. We can see how that plays out with Subaki here and even with Caeldori following these conversations.

Am i the only one here who thinks that this might actually be one of the very few actually canon pairings? Caeldori and Selena/Severa actually have a unique mother-child support that differs than Caeldori's supports with any other potential mother (aka all the other potential mothers have her say the same lines, but ONLY with Selena/Severa she has different lines).
That CAN'T be a coincidence. It would also explain Selena/Severa's inferiority complex since the support reveals how much she dislikes being the only member of her entire family tree to not be an icon of perfection.

God I can't ever get Subaki to do anything useful. Most the time his STR and SPD stats are still 15 or below by the time I get him to lvl 20. I gotta get Mozu's skill on him to make him half decent on my playthroughs.

Severa is that one time paradox where you go back in time only to become your own grandparent.
So in a way they are like two sides of a coin. Subaki is like an alternate version of Selena , they both strive to become perfect but can't, and they happen to be related to people who are perfect. So its like she's marrying a gender bent reincarnation of herself.

Because it's not? Short answer: this is as canon as Takumi X Oboro.
Long answer: from what I know and believe, "canon" means something in fictional media, wether it be a game or a film, that is confirmed to have happened or has been confirmed by the developer when asked if said thing had no confirmation in the stated media. So since this hasn't been stated as canon in the game and no one at Nintendo has said this was canon. It is there by deemed as not canon. (yes that last "there by deemed" was there just to sound fancy).

The same way you can NOT call Selena/Laslow or Selena/Odin canon. They’ve been with her since the beginning, and it could happen. Even in the Selena/Laslow support, Selena is less tsun and more dere than her support with Inigo in FE:A

During my Hard Birthright run, the only speed growth my Subaki had, was when I promoted him.
I almost believed he had 0% speed growth.
I swear I read it in a book that people tend to be attracted to people similar to their parents....Though now that I think about it I can't remember where I found it. Will have to look for it later.

I like this pairing because it will keep the worlds of fates and Ylisse safe, If the Giant Brain Spawn attack and try to take over their planet and Severa can save everyone because the Brains would not be able to read her due to the fact that she lacks the Delta Brainwave.

Yeah, I think she's referring to the Cordelia of her timeline; the one where Chrom died, Robin became Grima, the world turned into a shithole, you know the drill.
Its referencing the bad future timeline in which Grima destroyed civilization: the future which the Awakening 2nd gen came from.

My only thoughts are that this probably was meant to be a canon pairing. Cealdori is so similar to Cordelia it only makes sense she would in some way be closely related and Selena has a special recruitment conversation with cealdori that none of the other possible mothers have. Sure it’s still lazy they had two Cordelia clones in one game but it just makes more sense in my head that way

Ok seriously why do people think that fates and awakening are in the same timeline. Fates did not happen before or after awakening, they are completely different universes! How is that so hard to understand?

Maybe it has to do with the fact that there was DLC (Hidden Truths) that specifically explained that Selena, Odin, and Laslow are Severa, Owain, and Inigo from Awakening and all the numerous references they give to other characters from Awakening. Oh yeah, and their endings all State they "disappeared from all public records" or some variation of i.e. returning to Ylisse. To be fair though, no one contests that Nohr and Hoshido are a different world though. As explained in Hidden Truths, Severa, Owain, and Inigo were brought to this dimension by Anankos's good half in order to protect Corrin.

My interpretation is that they are from a world that had the general events of Awakening occur, but it wasn't the one from any specific one of our own files.
Outrealms already established parallel universes, so it would be just one of the countless times that the Awakening scenario played out in parallel in the multiverse.
