Just want to say how beautiful this was shot. As a person that’s going through a very low time in my life, this brought pure refreshment to my mind and given me hope and purpose again. Thanks a lot.
Bro I just read your comment and it touched me, I've been where you were and trust me, nothing more valuable in this world is life, no matter how hard life knocks you down, never give up! It took me a long time to get where I am now. Start to believe in yourself, that's where the change begins.
Mike, many years ago, 1990, when flight sims came out, I thought it would be nice to be able to sit in front of my TV and travel anywhere in England of France, or Germany and see it from the air, not just a Ordnance Survey map or atlas. Now in 2018, we have Google Maps, Earth, street view, and Drone pilots, like your kind self. You help me recon the Lake District, with our leaving home. In addition, i appreciate that you labeled the lakes, tarns, and glens. In addition, you secured permission to fly. I assume those you thanked we property owners etc. I appreciate the work you did. Your shots were beautiful.
This is the dogs do das. Started fell walking as a teenager. Now knees and hips forbid any climbs. But getting over 2.500ft with a mug of tea and mince pie is a joy. Thankyou will lookout for your next piece. Peter.
I live on the fringes of the Lake District, and was born here. Oddly, I tend to avoid the very busy touristy areas now, simply because they are normally so busy and crowded. But of course tourism is what supports and sustains the Lakes so I can't knock it. Whenever I drive past Birmingham on the M6 I really feel for the people who live in those high rise apartments I see as I go by. It brought it home one day when I was out strolling through Troutbeck. I was leaning against a gate just taking in the view when a car pulled up behind me, and the woman front seat passenger asked me "are those your sheep?" I said "no, I'm just here taking a stroll". She then asked "can we go into the field and stroke the sheep?". I told her it wouldn't be possible as they would just run away from her. I said they only let the person who feeds them regularly get close to them. They had some small kids in the back of the car, and the look of disappointment on their faces was clear to see. I thought afterwards that those kids may never have seen farm animals before. So sad really...... And yes, I agree with the other comments here. This is a really well shot and presented video. The Lake District has now gained World Heritage Status, and consequently visitor numbers (pre lockdown) were at an all time high and still climbing... Sit tight folks. It'll still all be here once we get back to something like normality. The Lake District National Park Authority are increasing their Warden numbers to cope with the additional visitor numbers too.
I've lived next to or near Ullswater almost my entire life. Seeing it in that initial shot and then from Glenridding had me choking back tears. My favourite place on Earth, a lot of very different memories from it and the amount of blood, sweat and tears in the mountains and fells nearby... That was an amazing video, my friend.
Bloody brilliant. I frequently return to watch this even though it makes me homesick. I've ridden my mountain bike up and down these mountains and although I've been fortunate to travel to some beautiful places there's no place like home. You missed arguably the most beautiful place though... Buttermere!
@Ghouraba Stranger it's one of the UK's national parks. In the Northwest of England. If you look at a map of the UK it's on the left hand side, just above halfway up. It's the most beautiful place in the world (I'm completely biased. I utterly adore The Lakes. It's my spiritual home. We visit every year. It's about 3 hours from where we live.
Wow,I grew up in the Lakes some 70 years ago whilst I return each year this film is a great reminder for everyone as to the beauty of the place, it’s been filmed with grace and beauty, TrueType superb.
I visited this beautiful place in Sept 20 with my son. Scafell pike conquered. wild camped and left no trace. Thank you so much for the revisit and all the places we went to.
A beautiful video as I’ve been living and working in this landscape for many years,, you’ve done it justice and filmed so very well. Truly great video and really conveys the landscape to m the working folk. Grand job and love the video, truly great work 👍🏻
Absolutely brilliant! Everything about it was so professional: the cinematography, the editing, the choice of music; even the typefaces you used! Well done Michael, I wish you all the best with your career, and if this is anything to go by - and I'm sure it is - I Iook forward to seeing much more of your work.
I was about to comment this made me incredibly homesick as I'm also living in New Zealand - which is stunningly beautiful and in many ways more spectacular - but there's nowhere quite like home. I miss hiking the fells, drystone walls, quaint villages and old pubs with log fires after a long walk.
incredible footage, i was only up in keswick 3 days ago ,went up walla crag...199 fells left to do!...glad i`m the 1000th person to like this as well...cant wait for more michael!!
This video is truly amazing and really shows off what beautiful lands we have as a country. so soothing to watch , you have definitely put the right sound track with it and the drone footage is awesome. i cannot fault this vid other than i wish it was longer.
Amazing.....this is such a beautiful video of one of the best locations on Earth. The Lake District is so special to my dad and I, so thanks to this video we can share it together every day :)
ohhh my...... 9:30 min of relaxation Diving deep inside Totally falling in love with these beautiful mesmerizing Nature Views appreciate your efforts it took alot of hard work to produce this kind of masterpiece
Fantastic photograph second only to the scenery, superb. Can't wait to get out there when they let me out of Alcatraz in 12 weeks time hopefully. What a video, what a place. Yes Yes Yes.
Well what an amazing amazing video Michael and it makes me proud to be a Cumbrian indeed. having this landscape on my backdoor I get out and about as much as possible in the lakes and wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world it fills me with pride seeing this. well done
Just be sure to try and check there is no low flying training happening before you fly a drone, because both the RAF and the US Air Force use the Lakes as a low flying training area......and I mean LOW
This truly struck a chord with me, bringing back so many happy memories from my school days as I was at school in Keswick from 1976 to 1979, during which time I was lucky enough to climb most of the fells, swim across Derwentwater and do loads besides - I also went back there from my home in the Cotswolds to get married in 2003. I've also been back many times on my motorbike, riding the Hardknott, Wrynose and Kirkstone passes at every chance possible. Thank you so much for all your hard work to put this together. Steve
I really needed this especially now more than ever during lock down and feeling so depressed it's really made me feel like I'm floating in the skies over the lakes
This video has kept me going through the uk lock downs, I miss camping, mtb, driving and hiking Cumbria so much, its my peaceful place to escape the chaos. So greatful and blessed to live in the uk with such stunning landscapes ❤️
Wonderful. I cannot wait to return camping. I need to get out of this lockdown. It is harder as the weather has been awful. I walk around my local area but the Lake District is magical.
Thank YOU, Michael Lazenby. So skilled you are...and so beautiful this area...from whence my family comes. I shall watch again, to be sure...and look forward to Lakeland.
Michael, beautiful work, you captured the heart of the place. Sounds like you got the same 'bug' that keeps bringing me to Cumbria all the way from Australia. I love the place so much that I've now bought a house there. Wainwright truly said that all those who love Lakeland are exiles when away from it. Keep up the good work. Hope I run into you some day when I'm there walking the fells.
Thought Buttermere would’ve featured.. it’s glorious . What a fantastic piece of filming that was... very tranquil and heartwarming..enjoyed it immensely ( apart from no Buttermere) lol
Wonderful video. Yes, you ommitted Buttermere, but the shots were so awesome and evocative, showing the magnificence and sheer gorgeousness of the area. Loved the most hanging over the lake and the raw and natural beauty of the hills. We will be paying another visit to our favourite place on Earth very soon. We so missed going last year during lockdown. Now we are free to go anytime.
Just come here after watching hellvellyn tri, swimming in ullswater, cycling across the struggle and running along stridings edge to hellvellyn and red tarn has to be one of the best experiences of anyone's life

Buttermere is magical. There’s so many beautiful places in the lakes. It’s truly a land enchanted and I hope to live there peacefully one day.

The single most annoying thing when walking in a peaceful spot Is a drone keep on flying over trying to have their perfect moment.
