- The Haslab Razor Crest has landed! Over a year after we pre-ordered it, Hasbro's 1/18 scale model of The Mandalorian's chrome starship arrives at our studio for an unboxing and review. Norm examines the nooks and cranies of this massive playset, from its assembly and interior detail to removeable paneling and paint job. And all throughout, we're thinking of ways to add more weathering and modify it in a future build!

Mando in Boba Fett show should have gotten a Theta-class shuttle, like Palpatine carried crispy hurt Anakin in, as the best replacement BOUNTY HUNTER ship.
The razorcrest is not a gunship to me.
There needed to be a big difference between Razor Crest I and II…Mando is moving away from bounty hunting in S3… Also they’ll sell a lot more of this new ship, should be $100 vs $349…damn I wish I had backed this…

@@saikawanderer9166 the n-4 is a work of art. It was really cool to see such a sleek ship basically reverting back to that typical worn Star Wars look too.
Yet other "experts" have declared the destruction of the Razor Crest to epitomise Lucasfilm's mismanagement by destroying its merchandisable protentional.
Faverau is brave enough to kill off characters and destroy the original iconic ship all in service of the story. It's commendable behaviour. Your snidey comment only reveals your jealously of the talent the people behind this series have and the acclaim it's received.
It’s crazy that we never really lose our inner child. how as an adult with bills to pay and all kinds of responsibility can become a 10 year old kid again instantly watching the unboxing of the coolest toys. so satisfying.
The panels coming off is a nice touch. It’s less battle damage than it is jawa looting.

Whenever I see the Razorcrest, I think the person who came up with the Idea of destroying it should have recieved the "BDNB" Award. Which translates as "Bad Doggie, No Biscuit!".

Cut open the cockpit door and 3d print the interior.Also add some lights!
Not having an openable cockpit door was a big mistake in my opinion. Also I wish they had shown the bed area. I hope it included the little hole where Grogu was working.
When Norm was balancing the Razorcrest on one hand while trying to remove the landing gear he was balancing our hearts too

Hated to lose this ship, and everything in it! I was hoping he could replace his rifle, but that hasn't happened yet... With everything he could do with the 'Crest, I'm kind of disappointed in his new ship, as nice as it is. It's not a "home" for him, just a commuter vehicle.

Thanks for the preview - I received my shipping notice yesterday and can't wait for it to arrive. For those of us who backed this as a display (as opposed to a toy), I really hope you'll consider adding some lighting - it seems a natural mod considering the "in flight" stand that comes with it.
Can't wait to see a lighting mod on this bad boy. The translucent engine bits should make it easier to produce some neat effects.

I just wish it was actually 1:18 scale for that price. The Razor Crest should be about 52" long in that scale, as compared to the 30" here. It doesn't look like the interior is even really painted, either, apart from some of the cockpit. I'm glad those who enjoy it do.
Norm, you have to do a video of you (and Adam?) painting/detailing this gorgeous "toy". THIS IS THE WAY!

Toys are meant to be played with, pop those suckers out and forget what the boring collectors say about it.
We'll see if you're still humming that same tune a year from now when boxed ones are selling for $2000 and opened ones are only selling for $400.

This is my general attitude but I've shifted to the smaller scale SW figures for that reason so I'm not sure I'm going to keep this. If I decide to keep it it will definitely be played with.

Definitely the carbonate needs painting including the status lights, I guess a fine point oil marker or brush for the latter. I’d purchase the regular BY and Chrome paint it’s floating crib so as to keep Haslab one in card.
I still can't look at the Razor Crest without seeing the Firefly.
I also thought it looks like Firefly and an Airstream camp trailer had a love child

I'm so glad you are considering upgrading certain parts of the paint. On the Hasbro unboxing video it was stated the engines could be removed for storage. Of course this comes in handy for adding lighting if the owner wanted to do that ( I do). In the course of your video you showed that the Razor Crest could be displayed as if it had just taken off with the landing gear still deployed. That answers my question of is it possible. That is how i wish to display mine. It would be nice to see a lighting kit added to illuminate the cockpit, hold and Engines as well as running lights, i'm sure some one will release a kit. May be a diarama of the Razor Crest in Peli Mottos Mos Eisley landing bay. And in other news my RC will be delivered in the UK in the next few days.

I love the "ho ho ho" noises you make each time you pull one of the parts out. I imagine that is how Santa laughs, he is giddy from the joy of giving out toys.
Simply GLORIOUS! A detailed collectable with the sturdiness and play features of a toy and I am proud to say I am an owner of one! It was a long wait but oh so worth it! Great review.

Your team should definitely consider do a film test with he model on a blue screen like how they did it in the original trilogy.
I love everything about this ship, but the attention to deetails is astounding. I love the removable landing gear with doors that close over the mounting points, so it can be flown and filmed with no gear down. Need some perspective pics of it in front of a green screen so I can get a picture of it landed in my back yard!
I think those panels pop off so the Jawa will have something to steal.

Awesome lived the smoke effect at the end you used for photography. Really made it look so cool like they just landed somewhere like Degobah with all the mist, very cool.
Oh Norm if you really must repaint this get someone else on the Tested to team to do it for you, so it doesn't get ruined! :-P

Nobody talks about how awesome the toilet is. You have touched on it a few times. Can you elaborate on possibly making the three T's....Tires Toilets and Tar (roads) better?

The new ship is impractical, ok for short flights but what do you do you cargo? Also the kid in the mech compartment is now unreachable and could eject him else into space!
Probably the most impressive Star Wars toy I've ever seen. That ship definitely needs lights and sounds. It's still perfect though. Great video!

This is the first one I’ve watched. I’m surprised/disappointed that with the enormous attention to detail, they omitted to add a cockpit door.
But that does not detract from what is otherwise a spectacular piece.

If you drop it off the top of the building you would have the current version of the Razor Crest.

In the future, if you open both ends, you won't ever have an issue with the 'top' creating suction on the polystyrene.

Just a couple of negative points.
Too much blue plastic on show where detail could be applied.
The doors in the cockpit should open, they apparently don't and for a playset
that's really bad.
The crowd funding price was $350. It's only available on the secondary market now..$700-$1200+

When i was about 10 i got slave1: it didnt come with han in carbonite, stickers or wing attatchments, i still played with it for years :)
Great piece. If you guys are going to upgrade it, I think some lighting would be awesome. Interior cockpit, cargo bay and weapons locker. Maybe led in the engines.
Many moons ago, my Dad helped me add LED running lights and cockpit lights to the Millennium Falcon play ship. :)

A few ideas about upgrades...
- Rotating pedestal
- The Childs favorite toy: Full Size Real Metal Sphere on the pedestal
- LED Exterior (backlighting), Interior Lighting, Engine Glow Lighting
- Engine Sounds and Blaster Sounds (pew pew)
- Yes, The smoke from the video (oil used in trains or dry ice) - coming from the inside doors/ramp or coming from underneath in the pedestal
- Mandalorian Theme (full song) played in the pedestal
- Manadalorian Quotes and Baby Yoda Cooing (sounds)
- Engine Exhaust (real flames or LED lighting - maybe rotating engine turbines
