The bolts that connect the downpipe to the turbo + front pipe are 33 ft-lb
Great! Thank you. Very helpful.
thank you.. you didnt rush the video and went step by step with even showing every bolt and showing what to disconnect. thank you again
I’m really glad to hear that you found the video helpful 👍. Thanks for leaving your comment 😁
Watched the whole video. Appreciate all the effort that went into this as I know filming and editing videos is a PAIN in the butt! After watching this I’m 100% just gonna pay some shop to do it lol
Thank you! I appreciate your recognition of the level of effort needed to put together the videos 😁👍. If you’re local to the greater Denver area, let me know and I can help you out 🤷♂️
wow, lemon factory detail to detail on this was insane. if teachers 👨🏫 in real life was this hands on when i was growing up i would of passed all my studies fasho. good job TLF 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
😂. I’m glad you liked it and find it helpful 😁👍
Does that mean you’re installing one?
This video made my day! I appreciate you!
And you just made my day! Thank you very much for your support, Erick! 😁
Should've bought the 5" catted ptp black lava heat blanket for the downpipe. I would've bought and replaced the front pipe too since you were already that deep. Good video!
I don’t think either of those would do anything to add horsepower, just lighten my wallet 🤷♂️
hey. Need some advice! My Accord is FBO with PRL Catted downpipe also. I need to get my car smog checked this year, And I will be installing in FL5 CTR Turbo in about a week, Aslo im tuned by D rob also right now. I know with the tune I wont pass smog, as I checked the Cars Monitors with a scanner and it says the 02 Sensor is not ready. So I'm wondering after i get my FL5 Turbo installed, and when the time comes, Can I flash back to stock, and just drive easy to get to the smog check then flash it back.? There's another guy i'm following. He had a downpipe and the usual bolt ons. he flashed back to stock, and took about 100mi for the CEL to come on. I don't half to go that far to get my car checked. you thnk that will work with the new turbo? or am i screwed? LOL.
It’ll depend on how your state tests. If it’s simply a tailpipe snif test, or an OBD read of codes as well. I don’t have any direct experience with this car as it’s still too new to require it 🤷♂️
Yo boss hope you’re having a great day. I just installed my PRL catless downpipe & im also runic Borla Catback Exhaust with stock midpipe. For whatever reason, my setup sounds raspy do you have any idea what could cause that? Im currently untuned should be running Phearable Stage 3 later today I don’t know if that could help with sound.
I would imagine it’s from the catless down pipe and Borla exhaust. 🤔
All your videos are so Informative and well put together, it shows you put effort into it. Keep up the good work !
Thank you, Miguel! Appreciate the kind words and support
I was wondering if the 2.0 downpipe could fit the 1.5, since I’ve ordered a 2.0 downpipe because I couldn’t find any down pipes for the 1.5 specifically.
Is there anyway to use that o2 cap for the oem spot up top? And move that o2 sensor into the downpipe. Im asking because i want to install the turbo inlet pipe from prl.
If I get the down pipe do I need any other mods to go with it like a new inter cooler? I have a Borla exhaust currently I want to get the down pipe I also want to tune my car as well. I know tunes are usually the way to go when you do a down pipe but do I need anything else
Installing a downpipe is not dependent upon any other mod 👍. With that said, have you checked out the video in which I dyno tested the downpipe?
For the O2 sensor that you plugged. Can you use that one and cap the original top location if you wanted to? Only asking because I have seen the issues where people were trying to install Type R inlet pipe but the top O2 sensor gets in the way and there was no way of installing the inlet pipe because of that issue.
I haven’t tried it / checked it out, but I’m surprised to hear that as the air inlet is in front of the O2 sensor, not above it 🤷♂️. I guess we’ll find out soon enough 😉
So I’ve been watching some videos because I want to upgrade my dp and inlet during one install. Would you suggest getting the turbo and dp blanket instead of messing with the heat shield ? I know one of your more recent videos you installed them so I’m wondering if it causes any heat soak or if one is better etc
What power adders have you installed so far?
@@TheLemonFactorIntercooler, chargepipes, intake, and flex fuel
When reinstalling, if I were to use that plug where the stock primary sensor goes and instead install the primary onto the downpipe would that cause any problems? Any check engines/ rich lean codes? Reason I’m asking is I want to install the type r inlet and the o2 sensor would have to be moved where it is on the prl downpipe.
If you are removing the O2 sensor and reattaching it for the downpipe addition, where there engine check issues?
I have not had any problems with a check engine light 👍
Thank you
Hope it makes that power u thought u felt. I want to see if my local tuner shop was correct. Also imo for the cost and time of this install, I would need a 15 whp gain
You know I don't like relying on the "butt dyno", including my own... let's see what our DynoJet session reveals. However, at this point, I'm not questioning myself as I drive it more. I certainly do not feel anything higher in the rev range like some people have claimed. We'll find out soon enough.
So where does the primary O2 sensor go then?
Checkout the install video...
Worth it, just excited to see more gains once a legitimate exhaust is put on that Honda. After that and a custom tune and you'll be pushing even more power. Miss the miata stuff but no worries.
From what I've seen a full front-pipe back exhaust doesn't produce any meaningful gains on this platform.
I’ve driven it with catless only and with front pipe and catback. It may not show any gains or little gains but you will be faster on top end. What I’m saying that is you will see the whp line hold better power though out on higher rpm than a big drop.
I’m not feeling any difference higher in the RPMs 🤷♂️
@@TheLemonFactor do you already have a front pipe and catback exhaust?
No front pipe or front pipe back exhaust, just the downpipe.
same set up plus the PRL front pipe.. interested to see the gains. PRL said they were going to post dyno results based on them not posting results I do not have high hopes.
I'm with you, the fact that they haven't posted any quoted gains definitely is a "tell" to me. How does your sound given that you have the front pipe as well? Except for WOT, I don't notice any difference in exhaust sound.
@@TheLemonFactor slightly louder on cold start and idle. It's very subtle in my opinion.
👍
Is it louder? I have the dc exhaust and don’t want additional noise. Attempting to add some vibrant resonators now
I have a borla exhaust and it did make a lot louder
@Gazi - on an otherwise stock exhaust it did not make it louder under “normal” driving. However, under WOT it does give more of a growl, which quickly goes away when you let off the gas.
yes, on a borla exhuast it will make it burble and pop
@@x12t4qerxx with the catted prl downpipe correct?
@@JaydenThompsonVlogs No, I have the rv6 high flow catted dp
Why did you plug top hole vs just use the sensor in it?
you bugging me about the washer fluid container, isn’t that a coolant over flow tank? cause as far as I know the washer tank is actually located below that overflow tank.
Yes, I believe I mis-spoke... good catch. Sorry about the confusion.
@@TheLemonFactor all Good Chief, I’m into the move of putting DP that’s why, I don’t wanna make any mistakes when I disassemble or re assemble everything, appreciate all the Info.
@LexmichaelQuimado good luck with your install 👍
What’s the diameter of the OEM down pipe?
Can you pass emissions with this down pipe
Depends on your locality. I haven’t had to be tested (yet). With that said, it is one of the reasons why I got a catted downpipe.
Is that not the coolant reservoir?
Where do i get the plr downpipe
how did u get the 12mm bolt under the actuator without harness getting in the way?
It’s covered in the video, but I believe you need a socket extension for the one that you’re referring to.
@@TheLemonFactor i hve a socket extension with a swivel im just barely getting the socket fully on the bolt but when i go to turn it the swivel doesn’t wanna turn with it
and ends ups just falling off the bolt hard and i don’t wanna strip the bolt lol
what about that top sensor, did you simply leave it off, that doesn't cause a code?
It's shown in the video
Why do u only use one 02 sensor on the PRL?
You might want to rewatch the video - both the primary and secondary O2 sensors are used 👍
@@TheLemonFactor ok I will. I thought you put the cap at the top. But I’ll rewatch thank you for the response.
For the Accord, the top hole is not used, so you do need to cap it. You’ll put the secondary sensor further down the pipe. And the primary sensor stays in its original location. Hope this helps 😁👍
@@TheLemonFactor helps 100 percent!! Thank you!
Thanks!
Always there supporting the channel... Thank YOU! It's not gone unnoticed, and certainly continues to help inspire me!
Sadly the no longer sell this part on prl site
Axion Industries has them for sale 👍
@@TheLemonFactor ty
@@TheLemonFactor have you thought about upgrading the intake manifold
Probably will consider it, but later down the line 👍
Will it fit for a 1.5??
Yes, PRL does offer a High Volume Downpipe specific to the 1.5L Honda Accord.
i need to find it been looking for months
Axion Industries may have it 👍
Cant wait for the dyno. I have a similar build to you but Phearable 3, intercooler, charge pipes, fk8 prl titanium inlet, prl hvi and hasport mounts.
What's your feedback on your charge pipes - worth the money and effort?
The torque specs are keep turning till it’s tight but don’t overturn 😂
Any CEL?
None so far 🤞
Is there a gasket for the turbo side of Downpipe?
Yes, there is a gasket between the downpipe and turbo 👍
@@TheLemonFactor thanks for the reply, should I buy a new one or did you just reuse the factory one?
That’s up to you… I’d recommend getting a new one unless your factory one is in really good shape.
👍👍👍
😁. Thank you.
This work for the 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 engine
They have all these parts for the 1.5t usually. Across the 10th civics and accords, you can mod anything that comes with the factory turbo
