Steel toe is not needed in the woods yea... but in an industrial setting it is absolutely needed, imagine working on a piece of heavy equip. and you drop a bucket pin on your foot... it happens and a steel toe will save you from having a broken toe/foot in many cases. If you drop something heavy enough to crush the steel in the toe you would completely destroy your foot anyway trust me.
I disagree. I work in that field and it's about having brains to make sure you're not working that close to a bucket. Or picking up things you're not strong enough to carry. To drop on your foot.
