I go out of my way for privacy.
I block the Cloudflare tracker with a super strict CSP and have my own gravatar system on my cdn server.
I do NOT want to show you that f***ing cookie consent popup and I make sure I don't ever have too 😋

This applies to all of EU, but German Data Protection Authority is of the opinion that it does. Meaning, there can be alternative opinions on other EU countries. But the law is the same. The interpretation is different. And when interpretations diverge, there's an internal EU mechanism called European Data Protection Board, which steps in after countries disagree and makes a decision based on a vote. And this is mainly problematic because framework called "Privacy Shield" was struck down by European Justice Court, meaning data transfers from EU to U.S. (and Google is American company) are complicated right now (because U.S. law does not ensure proper safeguards demanded by GDPR). IF a new agreement between EU and U.S. comes into play, this will become irrelevant. Also, you do not need consent from user for this specific use case, because you can rely on legitimate basis (providing user experience requires fetching data from Google and giving them the personal data of IP, as this is technically required).

"GOOGLE FONTS CDPR COMPLIANCY | 2023 | Learn HTML and CSS Full Course For Beginners"
Wondered what CD Project Red & Cyberpunk 2077 has to do with Google Fonts, but it's a G, as in "general" and in "gif" GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Sounds like the clients problem to me; "Do you want to be GDPR compliant?"

@@Dani_Krossing This applies to all of the EU, not just Germany. The UK is no longer under GDPR however they have now in place UK-GDPR which is essentially the same rules.

@@Dani_Krossing You did the same in the video, referring to it as CDPR 😛
Denmark, being part of the EU, does also have GDPR but you're probably more used to the Danish Data Protection Act which essentially does the same thing so you probably don't have to deal with GDPR as much as we do.
USUALLY the GDPR relates to the storing of personally identifiable data in the browser (cookies), so I don't know if GDPR would be relevant in this case. In your PHP/MySQL course, however, that is a different matter as you are collecting and storing data on their PC as well as on the server.

Yes it has 🙂 However from what I can tell, it is only Germany that considers Google fonts a part og GDPR Compliancy. If you have a link showing the countries who consider it GDPR as well, I'd love to see it.

@@Dani_Krossing Hi, I found a few press articles from last summer about Austrian courts threatening to fine web site operators for using Google fonts. In the German state of Hesse, where I live, the "Hessische Datenschutzbeauftragte" has only in January threatened to fine web site operators with penalties of up to €10,000 if they keep using Google fonts.
PS: How about doing a video on using grid items/divs in a href -tag? All the best. H.
