(10:30): Years of embroidery has destroyed my eyes. That said, I love the look of writing on a blank page and gridded pages and those line guides that you can use under your writing page aren't dark enough for my eyes. My fix: Amazon sells thick, plastic page guides that have the slits cut for you that are evenly spaced. I use these for my drawing out my guides with a mechanical pencil, then I erase them away when I'm done. Works like a charm! Just thought I'd share for anyone else out there that could use the extra help. For anyone that really likes the look of "interesting" lettering: there is something called a "Sewing Ruler" or a "Flexible Curve Ruler." They are utilized by quilters, engineers, woodworkers, etc. I use this to draw out curved lines for my lettering. It works a lot like a french curve, but flexible to your needs.
I think a video of the tools you use would be great. I've kept a nature journal for some time, but travel and everyday journals are new to me and it's always good to see how others work and the tools they use.
Your travel journals are so wonderfully done Abbey! I've kept travel journals for all my major trips (and some minor ones too) since the '90s. Mine tend to be more personal than what I'd be comfortable with sharing in a book though. 😊 I'd definitely be interested in hearing about what adhesives you've found to be most useful/effective for ephemera (btw, pronounced eh·FEH·muh·ruh) especially portable formats. I'm pretty sure I've tried them all and still not found The One. 😂 Love your channel, very inspiring.
Fabulous video! Your journal is such a great inspiration! It is a work of art! I think that you are teaching us a great use of art perspective and fun!
Great to hear your answers, I’m just about to start an art Journal TN so this was very helpful. I am just settling on a layout I would like, ratio of drawings to writing etc. I may have missed it in the video but which inserts do you use in this TN? The cream colour is easier on the eye.🙏
