With the student council election coming up, Pete Dixon complains to his class about student apathy, noting that less than a quarter of the student body is even registered to vote.
This television series has aged very well, and always comes back around time and time again.
I watched this in the 70s great show, lm 61 now.
62. I loved this show back in the day. It's aged well, too.
You watched this show when you were 9?
@@onamove70 Yeah? So?
@@RobMacKendrick Wow, more power to you. I can't remember very many details from tv shows back then. I'm 59.
@@onamove70 Maybe I just wasted more time in front on the TV. But seriously, I especially remember the shows I watched at night with my family, such as this one.
Thanks for posting Season 2!
Agreed.
This show started when I was just a toddler but in the latter part of its 5 season run I have memories of it. Some of the names behind the scenes played rolls behind the scenes of MASH & The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Great show!!❤😊
5:27 "Why do we always wait until people explode before we hear what they're trying to tell us?" Read that quote again. Every school incident and tragedy would be prevented if people would listen and take preventative measures.
15:36 "Can't stand the taste of stamps." How many people now will understand that joke?
As a kid watching this I had a crush on Denise Nicholas. Gorgeous
and I on Karen Valentine.
Who else remembers after the end of "Room 222" when Karen Valentine had her own series called "Karen"? It was in early 1975 and was cancelled quickly.
I do! She also had made a pilot for "The Karen Valentine Program" (1974) just before "Karen" came out; I think she might have had something else that never made it to light around that same time too. Someone will occasionally post those episodes of "Karen" (I have 11 of them myself). I actually really like the show. I understand the criticisms of that show, but I think it's overblown how Karen Valentine wasn't right for the part.
"Karen", "Bridget Loves Bernie" and "All's Fair" are three of the better '70s sitcoms that were cancelled after only one season.
@@emmapeel38 I love all of those shows!!
"Bridget Loves Bernie"@@emmapeel38 I remember that when I was a kid...Bridget was Catholic and Bernie was a Jewish cab driver
Liz inspired me to be a counselor
Mr. Dixon made me a teacher.

That is amazing
"I think they do a pretty good job on their own."
Damn that aged well
This episode shows all generation of students had their issues. But these student issues look pretty tame compared to today's problems in schools. These were the last of the good old days.
You're kidding, right? Or maybe you've never heard of the 60s.
Love 💞 the theme song.
Composed by the Legendary Jerry Goldsmith.
The return of Harvey Butcher!
Actually Harvey the Hack reminds me a lot of Canada's "Rhinoceros Party", a whole party based on political satire.
Harvey is the 1970s version of Yeezy. Running for Prez as a joke.

This show was groovy
Some of students are 26 yrs old.... harvey ( Elliot Street) just passed...a month ago..he really added so much...man, was he funny..so talented..
.
In real life, unless they were child actors, a person graduates from high school, seeks his/her chosen profession in acting school (may take 4 years or more), then has to experience acting classes, acting on stage and finally how to act before the camera. They could be in their mid-twenties before they're ready.
The students are all In there 20s
Harvey the Hack is like Chiden the hack!
How come Japan dosnt have this problum of keeping thier schools clean?
How come Japan has all kinds of other problems in schools? Bullying is an epidemic resulting in suicide.
They probably spend more time on teaching grammar, spelling and punctuation. Get the hint?
Wokester High. This show made Welcome Back Kotter look like the Young Conservatives. The We Demand generation got what they wanted and are now using it to bend you over. FJB
Again, this show is 50 years old. If you're still bitching about it, the problem is yours.
Id like to see you show whatever happened to the actors on this show
