Welcome to Zentangle Project Pack No. 19 and the 12 Days of Zentangle 2022!
In this first video, follow along with Molly as she introduces you to the theme of this series and walks you through adding watercolor to your template. Feel free to watch this video through first before going back and doing it yourself.
It has become an annual Zentangle tradition for us to celebrate the holiday season with a series we call The Twelve Days of Zentangle. For twelve consecutive days, we deliver daily tangling lessons, guiding you through the steps to create festive tangled works of art that are all part of the same theme.
This Zentangle series is unique as we will be working on one singular piece of tangled art over the course of twelve lessons. This customized surface will provide structure and a common element to guide us on this adventure together. We will methodically and magically add to the structure as we simultaneously discuss and share our system of collecting, deconstructing, and categorizing tangles. As we take you on an adventure, we will introduce you to our Zentomology™ approach.
In true Zentangle fashion, our approach to this system is playful and open to exploration and interpretation. We use the Zentomology system as way to learn about the characteristics of tangles and explore how to use them in ways that enhance and balance our tangled compositions. As we dig into this concept, we will leave a trail of tangled artwork behind us. Join us as we get tangled up in the Zentomology approach of studying tangles while creating one large piece of tangled art.
Upload your work to the Zentangle Mosaic App or other social media with the hashtags #PP19, #PP19Day01 and #12DaysofZentangle2022

Gently roll the paper in the other direction, then take a deep breath and SSLLOOWWLLYY blow that moist warm air into one end, then repeat on the other end - with your mouth sealing the end whilst doing so. The heat and moisture will loosen the fibres and allow for a creaseless abandoning of the curl.
--- not all papers are raw enough for this to work, but as a general rule.

I also put it between two tea towels and gently misted with a medium hot iron to flatten, however the heat can change the porosity of the surface.... just sayin'

You can also use a fine-mist water spray bottle and then use your brush to 'direct' the color if you like.

Wet the paper on the back and it will flatten out then let it dry again (or not ; ).

Have you created a guide for sketching the tree string (for those of us who do not have the project pack)? I viewed the intro to Project Pack 17 and learned about the dream catcher. Is there something similar for this project? Thank you for guidance. This project is very beautiful.
