I haven't seen these commercials since the 1970s and remember them. In the early 1970s our mothers cooked dinner at home and going out to eat was a real treat.
Remember when Ronald McDonald came to your neighborhood McDonalds? And the restaurant was jam packed with all the local kids carrying signs and balloons welcoming him and waiting anxiously to see him in person? Me neither.
@Veronica A. When I was a kid, my friend's family used to invite me to McDonald's. After eating, they'd all bring their boxes of cookies home and frost them with homemade icing. They were careful to frost the different parts of Ronald's face with different colored icing.
McDonald's advertising partners were successfully sued by the originators of the HR Pufnstuf childens show for copyright infringement involving these commercials back in the early 70's
I hope you find the McDonald's Christmas commercial about the ruby-red bracelet-cups; they were like the halloween reflector cups but were a beautiful candy-apple/ruby red. I wanted them as a kid more than almost anything but my parents wouldn't get them. The commercial came out at the same time these were made.
As they're walking deeper and deeper into the woods of McDonald'sland... Billy: Gee, Ronald, I'm getting scared. Ronald: Why are you scared? I'm the one who has to walk out of McDonald'sland alone
I grew up on Fraggle Rock, Popples & Shelly Duvalls Fairy Tail Theatre which terrified me. I am now an opiate addict. Not sure if the two are connected, but it sure feels like it 😆
"Hey man, wanna drop acid and go to McDonald's?" "Nah, I'm good. I just watched some commercials that gave the exact same experience." -Probably some people in the 70s

I lived the first 9 years of my life in the 70s and it was! America didn't start getting smart, complex, rude, litigious and cynical until the 90s. But part of me does long for the 70s and 80s because it was a simpler time.
The last commercial is false advertising! When I was a kid, and Ronald McDonald was going to make an appearance at my local McDonalds, I EXPECTED to get the REAL Ronald from the commercials---not some "local yokel" impostor with a southern accent (I grew up in the south)! What bothers me about the burgers being alive with faces is that they were once living cows with faces 🐮 so are the burgers reincarnated or would it be like a caterpillar turning into a moth 🙈😳
@@niceice3998 im still getting into mcdonalds lore so bare with me lol. all plants dont grow burgers tho right ? because in one ad ronald joked that the hamburglar wished everything he touched would turn into burgers and when he was imagining it, he touched a fruit on a tree and then that turned into a hamburger.
McDonald's land vs SpongeBob. Capt. Lmao you wouldnt be able to make commercials like this anymore. They would accuse Ronald of promoting bullying for tricking Captain Crook with that apple pie map. Then they would call him racist for eating with a bl@ck kid.
These commercials are WAY more effective than what McDonald's makes now! Every time I watch these, I just want to go to McDonald's for a burger.
I haven't seen these commercials since the 1970s and remember them. In the early 1970s our mothers cooked dinner at home and going out to eat was a real treat.
Back in 1972-73 my father would take me to McDonald’s every Friday night in Northport Long Island.
I miss that groovy little tune these early commercials had!
Fr these commercials radiated "1970s"
1970s: McDonalds Land
2020: McDonald's land no longer exists
Me: I wish McDonald Land was still around😥
Mcdonald's land was replaced by happy the new mascot of McDonald's but they removed it too, I want Mcdonald's land and happy to come back
You and me both.
Imagine if they put out these commercials now
It would be a true retro fit thus taking more time to recreate the commercial
the knights of awesomeness peoples heads would be in the gutter
Instant fear
I really dig Hamburglar. These are just the appearances I've been looking for....
When Hamburgler was a creepy old man rather than a cutesy kid.
I liked mayor Mcheese❤❤😂

These are two numbers in between 1970 and 1973
I dig the groovy music in these commercials.
Like the mcdonaldland song
The children's programming of the 1970s is a disturbing acid trip. Imagine being weened on this madness.

It was a great time. I loved growing up in this time period
50 cent gift certificates what a time to be alive
And in Halloween sometimes if out of candy the house was give either change or 50 cent McDonald's gift certificate booklets 5 dollars worth
"I'm hungry." After killing a pirate who threatened to stab a kid with a sword if he didn't give him his hamburgers. Wow.
This is the reason the Doctors put me on Xanex and never took me off.
1:27 "Well Jimmy we string him up. stealing is capital offense in these parts"
The Hamburglar in that time looked creepy AF
Popeye really went off the deep end after he stopped eating spinach
McDonald's serves hamburgers that would attract his friend, wimpy

best commericals ever i remember those simply delicious😁

7:42 Creepy Ronald McDonald grin right there
Captain Crook got jumped by the Goblins!!!🤣
HR Pufinstuf vs McDonald’s
50 cent gift certificates :)
do you have the titles for these Commercials
That’s actually King Moody, not Bob Brandon. Listen to his voice in one of these commercials. Then listen to his voice in, say, a 1978 commercial.
Totally familiar with Moody, but not Brandon!
Moody was there from like 69 to 85

That ENTIRE tree filled with 1970’s 50¢ gift certificates wouldn’t be enough to buy a meal at McDonalds in 2021
Would take ten dollars worth of McDonald's gift certificates in 2023 to buy a meal
Ed Wynn did voice of mayor Mcheese
I don't remember ever seeing these commercials
I saw them when I was a boy in the 70s.
You would think Captain Crook would be smart enough not to have a drain plug in his boat.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING
.50 cent gift certificates in 1971-1972. That's SCARY.

People were getting shot and stabbed in New York City during the initial programming of these commercials so not really.
There's a horror movie where Winnie the Pooh and Piglet are vicious, nasty killers. Imagine if they made one where Ronald and Grimace were ones?
At 9.30 they show that cute boy most of the time but not the little girl

King Moody

I miss the chocolate chip and shortbread cookies and the awesome birthday cakes
The sugar and chocolate chip cookies
"My psychedelic hamburger machine"
