The theory, posted on Reddit, suggests that part of Buzz's training as a space ranger was “acting like the locals in order to stay safe” and remain undetected, so Buzz froze around humans because the rest of the toys did so, so it was almost like an automatic defense mechanism.
Well, I think it’s more like Buzz being respectful of their “culture”, because when he shows Rex and Slinky the bottom of his boot, he says, “It looks as though I’ve been accepted into your culture. Your chief, Andy, inscribed his name on me,” meaning that, while Buzz is “stranded on the uncharted planet”, he also makes sure he respects their “culture”. As for every human who isn’t Andy, Buzz either recklessly throws himself into the open (sitting in the passenger seat of the Pizza Planet truck and running out into the open at Pizza Planet and diving into the claw machine without a care in the world for anyone seeing him) or has to be told to freeze (being pulled out of the claw machine and entering Sid’s house).
Ok. The thing with Sid this was a ten year old boy using AND PURCHASING explosive devices and NO ONE WAS SUSPICIOUS?!?! Apart from Andy’s mum clearly that was why they moved. Called it.
eh you could get those at the time from a magazine subscription. Also there's a hint of a rough home life, maybe his mom is cool because the wall paper is marijuana themed but the dad is seen drinking when passed out and sid has all the locks on his door probably to hide from his dad, plus thats why he tortures toys cause his dad is abusive

He wasn't trying to knock Buzz out the window. He was just trying to get him stuck between the dresser and the wall. But Buzz jumped out of the way at the last second, causing the knock out the window.

Before they got Tim Allen for Buzz, they offered it to Billy Crystal, who turned it down. He still says to this day it was the biggest mistake he ever made, and so when he was offered Mike Wazowski in Monsters Inc, he jumped on it.
@@MoviesinDepth Well, hey, at least he got a role in a Pixar movie, so at least that’s something. It’s not like Pixar’s making him feel left out or anything. I can picture Pixar saying to Billy Crystal, “I know you chose to turn down the role for Buzz Lightyear before, but at least you can play a one-eyed monster in ‘Monsters, Inc.’, so at least that’s something, right?”
Actually, if you’ve seen the list of actors who were offered a part in Toy Story they’ll be surprised. Paul Newman was originally supposed to be Woody, but after declining, Pixar still wanted to see him in a movie so casted him as Doc in Cars. Michael Keaton and Wayne Knight were also offered the park for Buzz, but when they didn’t get the part would later star in the sequels as Ken (Toy Story 3) and Al (Toy Story 2).
Not only this was the first Pixar movie, but it was kinda the first movie to be made completely out of CGI. This movie is amazingly fun and the dynamic of Woody and Buzz is so great to watch. What else can you say about this movie except; you’ve got a friend in me.

And like he mentioned "Dinoco" aka the gas station Andy's mom stopped at, is a company in the movie Cars later on. And I can't even count the amount of times they've snuck a Pizza planet truck into the background. XD
Out of the songs in this movie (before anyone says it, I know there aren't a lot of them), my favorite is "You've Got A Friend In Me" Side note: So many comedy legends/comedic actors in this movie Tom Hanks-Woody (I also love him in the movie Splash, with Daryl Hannah as his mermaid love interest) Tim Allen-Buzz Lightyear (I also love his portrayal of Santa in the Santa Clause movies) Jim Varney-Slinky Dog (RIP) Don Rickles-Mr. Potato Head (RIP) John Ratzenberger-Hamm Wallace Shawn-Rex Annie Potts-Bo Peep (She's also best known as Janine Melnitz in Ghostbusters and as Sheldon Cooper's grandmother in the sitcom Young Sheldon)

When sneaking into the Pizza Planet truck, Buzz doesn’t follow Woody into the trunk because it has no seatbelts to secure them, and his sense of safety precautions turns out to be right with how crazy the driver ends up being. When they arrive at Pizza Planet, Buzz sees the robot security guards and believes they have to sneak past them. He sees the food containers and gets the idea to hide under them as they sneak in (he just gives Woody the credit, despite Woody being knocked out from the clutter in the trunk). When arriving in Sid’s room, Buzz and Woody hide from Sid’s toys, who they think are cannibals, and Buzz’s first instinct is to call for backup because he knows he and Woody can’t fight them off by themselves. @@MoviesinDepth I currently own this movie on VHS right now, but it doesn’t have the behind the scenes bonus feature included in it, all it showed was the opening trailers and promos, a 25th anniversary Disney World promo, some ABC Disney cartoons and promotional commercials for the video games and CD-ROM games based off of “Toy Story (1995)”, and then when the movie was over, that’s when the VHS ran out of tape storage to fit more in there.
The animation team for Toy Story perfected the movement of the Green Army Men by gluing some sneakers to a sheet of wood and trying to walk around with them on.
If you’ve never heard of the Toy Story “Black Friday Reel”, it’s absolutely worth checking out on here if just for the horror of it. Ngl, going from traditional animated films to CGI animation was a weird transition for me. That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy Toy Story because I(still) do. Moments like Buzz trying to breathe after his helmet is removed and him losing his sanity, only to have Woody slap him silly is always a pleasure to watch.😄
I just thought of this recently and I'm curious to see what you'll think of it. In the future, you should do a reaction/commentary to Planet 51. It's an animated movie from 2009 with people Justin Long, Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, Sean William Scott, and Gary Oldman in it. I'd be curious to see what your reaction to that movie looks like 😂
"YOU. ARE. A. *TOYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!* You aren't the real Buzz Lightyear! You're an action figure! You're just a child's plaything!" Ok I CAN'T be the only one who thinks that sounds terrible out of context lol
It's so sad to know that so many voice actors from the franchise have passed away. Don Rickles (Potato Head), Jim Varney (Slinky), among others. Rest in peace.
I love The Toy Story movies. There one of my favorites from childhood. But however, Story 1 is my lease favorite out of the other movies. But I do like it but here's some things about it the first movie I wasn't a big fan of. My only hate about Toy Story 1 is that I hated most of The Other toys for mocking and making fun of Woody and making him Feel like he was going to be replaced making that abandoned feeling becomes more realistic, it's like they're all supposed to be somewhat friends and Help each other out in the room, and it's like it Feels like they almost hated Woody in the first movie, and they started mocking him as soon as buzz got in the room, where they said oh he's a new favorite and Then they start mocking Woody so much that it caused his inner Jealousy and his own insecurities come out. I just felt bad for him. But I can understand kids minds like this heck even us adults sometimes like new things sometimes, but it doesn't mean that we forget that we like the old stuff too sometimes more because they have sentimental value to us. Buzz is a little hard to like in this first movie. I know there a lot of details to way Woody was so important to Andy, and I will get to that in toy story 2 if you do it. But Buzz is kind of a nut case and not the smartest toy in the room. But all in all, good reaction as always.
Thats Crazy. You Do Look Like Andy! Got The Same Shaped Heads...

2:42 They don't call him Woody for nothin.
Hey, hey! I will be back for Spooky Season to start requesting films again. Get ready boo boo.
Can’t WAIT
I was a toy story Stan when I was like 5 😭
The best Stan to be
7:47 Whos gonna tell Buzz that he wasnt gonna die lol
Not me lmao
5:28 How long has Andy had Woody in comparison to everyone else though 🤔
There is a Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command cartoon
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
I just thought of this recently and I'm curious to see what you'll think of it. In the future, you should do a reaction/commentary to Planet 51. It's an animated movie from 2009 with people Justin Long, Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, Sean William Scott, and Gary Oldman in it. I'd be curious to see what your reaction to that movie looks like 😂
I’ve never even heard of that one before! Might need to check it out!
"Save your batteries!", says Woody to toys that don't need batteries 🤦🏾♀️😂
He was speaking to me lmao
I love this movie!🤣
It’s the VIBE
"YOU. ARE. A. *TOYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!* You aren't the real Buzz Lightyear! You're an action figure! You're just a child's plaything!"
Ok I CAN'T be the only one who thinks that sounds terrible out of context lol
LMAO
My toys probably are grateful for all of my siblings still playing with them lol after 15+ years
My toys have been at the bottom shelf of a goodwill for years lmao
@@MoviesinDepth Not the Goodwill 😭🤣
It's so sad to know that so many voice actors from the franchise have passed away. Don Rickles (Potato Head), Jim Varney (Slinky), among others. Rest in peace.
Rip to all of those amazing Voice actors♥️
1:25 Andy not having a dad 🤷🏻♂️
On second thoughts, if I had watched this as a kid, the nightmares would've never left me lmao
LMAO I wouldn’t have blamed you
I forgot how lowkey relatable Woody is 😂
He is the sarcastic king we all needed
You said "spoopy season" when it ain't even October yet 😂
ITS BASICALLY HERE
Honestly really clever of Pixar to make the main characters plastic since they knew their animation for humans wasn't up to snuff yet
The fact that you didn't actually wear a cowboy's hat is a HUGE missed opportunity
The bag was fumbled💀
Very valid thoughts on all of this!! ♥️
11:57 I hate how right you are 😂
LOL
If you have any thoughts about Woody being a jerk, just keep in mind he was even WORSE in the original script.
0:37 Who doesn't bop their head to the Pixar lamp?!
Crazy people!!
FR
