    The addition of Edey is a huge bullet point. The gizzlies will be gunning for the top teams. Ja has them in his sights, and there's no limit to the scope of their firepower. They're going to be blazing a path next year, undoubtedly filled with wins.

  • @75aces97
    @75aces97 19 дней назад +3

    I didn’t know if Edey would be good right away, or if he’d amount to much, but we all knew he’s a big body with some skills. What surprised me about draft night was, if you’re a western team, why not take Edey? You’re gonna have to play Wemby for the next dozen years, so why not get a guy who can body him for 48 minutes?

  • @matthewvaldovinos3522

  • @blablablaa14
    @blablablaa14 19 дней назад +5

    The not throwing the ball into the post is something that people always complained about with Wemby, but the Spurs players probably have never done that in their life so none of them knew how to even throw an entry pass for the first 6 months of the NBA season. They probably had to teach that in practice

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W 15 дней назад

      Yeah Wemby is that huge of a culture shock and game changer for how the Spurs would approach their offense. Granted Pop needed to see about 20 games of Wemby's catch radius when he's by the rim. But with how consistent it became, its no surprise it continued to be a year long learning experience for the team along with other things Wemby was picking up quick.

    In the national title game he scored 37 of his teams 60 points, he's had 3 of the 4 highest WS/48 seasons since the stat was tracked in NCAA. How Edey wasn't #1 overall baffles me. He may not be super versatile, but he may be the most dominant post scoring prospect ever.

    • @colesmith193
      @colesmith193 19 дней назад +5

      He’s 22 years old playing against 19 year olds. He’s older than Anthony Edwards.
      Teams usually pick the top 19 year olds with the highest ceilings early.
      College stars who’ve been in college multiple years (Curry, Lillard, Jimmer, etc.) usually get picked by win now teams like the Grizzlies

    If you want to teach your guys to throw an entry pass - get a Purdue assistant coach for a month this summer. Obviously, they know how to do it up in West Lafayette. Bring down Brandon Brantley (big man coach) and Braden Smith (point guard) from Purdue and have them spend 3-4 weeks teaching these guys how it is done. Edey is a fast study - he'll help you get everything fine tuned.
