I had to return and watch the video from the start. Second time around is a charm watching the Master of Root work in action. Great Part 1. Excellent!!!!!
Always enjoy watching your videos. You are excellent in the manner in which you explain the "whys" as to your design choices. I learn a great deal about how to "read" my own trees' development and how to make design choices. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise.
29:47 Do the large root stumps left from removing a “potato root” re-grow? Would cut paste help the tree &/or prevent this? I recently removed one on my willow leaf ficus but just repotted without paste. Thanks! Also; Dig the “Ficus Friday” idea! 🌱😎
They will grow fine roots from the cut points and eventually some will become bulbous in the future. You just have to keep working on the roots each time you re pot to keep them under control.
Great job Nigel. You are indeed the Root Master™️ One of us club members will be very lucky if we win the auction, to get this Root Master™️ rehabbed ficus. 👍
Nigel, I am considering moving my bonsais to my summer home in Montana. You seem to be able to over winter your bonsais rather well, and I was wondering if you can direct me to good sources for keeping bonsai along the border with Montana/Canada? Thanks
Hi not Nigel here but I live in Alberta 30 minutes from Montana I have an insulated garage and keep my trees in their pot. I have a thermometer that tells me the temp in my house and I turn on a small heater if it is going to freeze works every year like a charm
I hope “Ficus Friday” becomes a real thing for this channel. Ficus is one of my favorite bonsai material, and I love so many of your examples of ficus
For me would be ficus Saturday afternoon 😁
Cool. maybe Ficus week!
I think that would be a great idea
I missed a few vids 🙁 so i thought it was a new thing i missed 😂👍🏻😂😂👍🏻🙈
Oh-oh! Squirrel ninja attack at 1:30 approx 😁

Have you ever thought to yourself “I’m basically a tree barber 🧐” 🤷🏻♂️😂 lol

Very good
Big job!
Do ficus propagate from root cuttings or just branch cuttings?
Anyone notice him not using his personalised turning table for repotting?Maybe because this tree is the Club's tree
Great! Thanks❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
