Iz and I are back in the forest scouting a new location. This ended up being a much longer and harder day than either of us expected. Merch Store: mike-27-shop.f...
Been there, done that boys! The 3rd tree down should’ve been the “red flag”. Everyone has to experience that at least once right? lol. Good gold hunting! Stay safe. Take care.
That first tree was funny when you said "a guy with a real saw showed up"! What was that thing you were using-a battery-powered variety? Yes, with a real saw, you could have made some money bucking up rounds to later sell as firewood! That looks to be an interesting place come spring; may you have the best in 2025!
This is like 90% of my trips lmao. Just get in way over my head lol. Dang winter time. It’s nice that it isn’t super hot but sure brings its own challenges.
well, now you know more about the terrain than you did yesterday. Any adventure you make out alive is a good one. Just think about all that shiny in the spring!!
All that thick snow you walked through took the best out of you, which happens to me all the time here in Nova Scotia , I've been stuck more than I care to count, lol ... smart choice to turn around and not being rhat hike in the dark , I won't hike my woods in the dark either

I’ve been out in this weather For a couple weeks straight now I’m back out again and yes it snowed stop me . Had to move my lower altitude spot . I’m camping out right now headed out 15 minutes again get the last of this rain runoff. Looks like it’s going to be dry for a couple days bummer. That green stuff on the tree save my life. When you’re out in the woods in a super bad storm hits in the spring came in the clouds move in and it starts snowing snowflakes as big as softballs and you can’t see 20 feet no compass and the snow was piling up and you don’t have the right gear just your metal detector that green Steph clutch on one side of the tree they say not to rely on it but it worked for me . When I started yet the sun was shining just a little detect in some high altitude spring time. Getting lost for three or four days no big deal long as you got fire couple survival things just camping without all the luxuries fire sake but not if it’s been raining sideways and snowing sideways and there’s not a dry thing around you know what you have is your detector batteries looking for all the crawling in there it’s not one. be careful survival kit is it necessity yeah always makes life better even one night. Whenever teachers in high school make sure every kid that went through the school knew about survival in new pal build a survival kit or actually built survival kits and we made fires at school with two matches . That would be Portola high
I grew up in Juneau, Alaska, and we call that green stuff stuck on the tree's elaphent snot and, in a pinch (pun intended), was not only a good fire starter, though a little course, butt wipe too! Happy trails, and I hope to see some more video on this prospect come spring!
@ Ive been digging and gold prospecting since 1977 and I normally recognize reality when I see it. Your content is refreshing real And worth watching. Your videos are in sharp contrast to some gold prospecting videos I’ve seen. In one I remember, appeared to be foreign , and depicted hot young Asian woman scrambling over jungle river rocks in tight shorts picking up huge “gold” nuggets without even digging much. And they had brand new shovels. 🙈
@@warrenrobinson1525 That's why I subscribed; just last night I watched one narrated by AI that brought me back to those old kung fu flicks where the lips and the speak don't add up; happy trails and the best of a new year to you!
Was heading up to the Blue ledge mine a few years ago and had a tree across the road and all we had was a rock pick and had to use that to cut the tree. It wasn’t a big tree but just big enough to be a problem.
Amazingly quiet. How long did it run before a charge was needed? Some would think Santa brought a lump of coal for Christmas! I got a laugh when he said a guy with a real chainsaw showed up! I just had to subscribe. Happy trails and the best of a new year to you!
@ it actually runs longer than I would expect. In normal conditions that 12amp battery would do the job. It was colder and wet so it took a couple to finish this log off. Would have done it if the bar was longer haha
That’s what makes it a fever !! We all got it and gotta get sum more!! Glad you boys made it out safely!!

@@minerjohnny41 we saw enough bear and cat tracks in the snow that we decided it wasn’t worth it. Didn’t have my gun either

Oh man, rough day fellas! Glad you got home safe
You guys are kickass! It’s an experience, spring snipping will come soon enough! Awesome video! Dan Brent
Good thing yall had a chainsaw and a big truck,
"The shit we do for Gold man" 😁👊🏽
Cool rain gear for the dog! Looking forward to the sniping videos.
Really what a concept. No filler, just how it goes some days.

Reminds me of my last time out 🤣. Hopefully we get a good break in weather this week 😎
Was that a chainsaw?
Santa must’ve brought you A Christmas present.
I was impressed at how much did cut.
Nothing like the sound of a nice ruining saw.
@@patdenney7046 yeah it’s the Milwaukee M18 chainsaw. It actually works great until you run out of batteries 😂

I hear ya on that one. Wet cold hike to prospect sure is fun ain’t it.
It's that time of the year unfortunately 🌧 ❄️ 🏔

I tried that "shortcut" a few years ago. I'll also be in the area next summer, good luck
