OMG Sebastian, I just bought amouage incense rose yesterday and i was wearing it today and searching for youtube reviews. I was surprised there were not many reviews about it and here you are at the end of the day (my local time) posting this video. I really like the fragrance and looking forward to give it more wearings this coming winter.
One of these days I’ll get a full bottle of portrait of a lady, but your description of the etat libre d’orange spice must flow had me intrigued and well within my price range so i ordered a bottle based on your recommendation. I can’t wait for it. You’ve never steered me wrong, but how could you? I love all smells. Fantastic list and topic.café rose is by far my fav TF PB fragrance.it’s not discontinued they just changed the label it’s not purple anymore it’s just gold.
I also love POAL - not love at first sniff but the more I smell it the more intoxicating it becomes. I almost blind bought Spice Must Flow from the perfume notes (waiting for a good price haha). I’m waiting to get my bottle of Rose Incense - another blind buy but I’ve since sampled and love it!

The new Dune movie is incredible tbh. I haven’t smelled many from this list but I love love love Ecstasy and obviously POAL is a classic. I got a cheapie at one of the brick and mortar discounters that turned out to be a great incense and rose fragrance: Crabtree & Evelyn Evelyn Rose Femme de Force. It’s not on fragrantica but here are the notes: Italian lemon, frankincense, cassis cassis, rose, nutmeg, cashmere wood, vetiver, guaiac wood and musk.
Excellent selection, I really want to know Portrait of a Lady. Two scents I really like with rose/incense are Parfum Sacre (vintage) by Caron (Jean-Pierre Bethouart) and Marni by Marni (Daniela Andrier). Parfum Sacre is truly a sacred perfume. A unique combination of incense, spices and rose. Marni is a rose/incense, spicy and woody, very elegant and balanced... so good. Discontinued, unfortunately.
Seb’s description of Tauer Incense Rose is spot on as always. Fun fun fun fizzy uplifting scent. Combination of incense and rose here just works. And yes this one reminds the smell of Coca Cola. Seb is spot on about this again. Thank you!
Soir d'Orient is a hidden gem, that I met a short time ago. I love the fact that it's an unconventional chypre, due to the more oriental/spicy feel, kind of dark and opulent. The rose/incense/patchouli combination is not so easy to find, especially without Oud (which I don't like), and in this one, everything is very balanced, it's amazing! I love it so much. P.S. I really want to know POAL, precisely because of the aforementioned combo. Is it worth the cost?

Unfortunately for me I have champagne taste on a beer budget, as my mom used to say. 😂 However, if I ever win the lottery, I will definitely follow your recommendations. They all sound incredible!! 'Ghala' by Jazeel is unpleasantly challenging for me, with every facet of the composition polished razor sharp it punctures my nasal membranes as it blasts up into my eyeballs and then slaloms down the back of my throat. Oud Rose Intense by Fragrance du Bois just smells like Gaultier's 'Le Male' on me, which is horribly disappointing. A fantastic kind of 'challenging' is Tauer's 'Incense Rose'. It's a very unique fragrance which on my skin smells like Mexican cola mixed with sherbet fizz. I get no incense and no rose, which makes me laugh out loud to think about. I can think of no dupe for this effervescent, super fun and invigorating composition. Good ol' Andy Tauer at it again! Thank you so much for this video, I found your recommendations and wonderful descriptions totally fascinating.

Jazeel Ghala sounds very intruiging, and a brand I'd really like to get into. Also, Bvlgari's Garanat (Le Gemme) is an outstanding Rose/Incense combo imo.

La Nuit Tresor is a feminine leaning designer fragrance that has rose and incense, I love the bottle but the fragrance isnt for every one its quite sweet.
POAL has been ruined by reformulations. I much prefer Amouage Epic Woman. The new one from Amouage sounds great. The Dunhill and ELDO ones sound great too.

You’ve got to try Zaharoff Signature ROSÈ!!! It’s a great rose incense fragrance!!! One of the best rose fragrances in my opinion!!!

The fizziness in Tauer Incense rose is, to my nose, due to aldehyde C12.
