Hey Magma just so you know you don't need a redstone torch to turn on a powered rail. Just put a detector rail in front and behind it and when the cart goes over the detector rail the powered rail will turn on.

The game thinks you got derailed, but then you immediately get back to the rails at the other side.
This is just a roundabout with extra steps...
Hold (W) while riding the minecart. You will move in the desired direction when the rail gets powered
